BIG THANK YOU TO DISigner DBL101!!!!! My boys LOVE the cars shirts!

I made my first shirts tonight. I should have used dark transfers. I thought light blue was light enough but it wasn't. I'll be getting white shirts for the rest of the transfers tomorrow.

Even though the color is a little off- I'm pretty happy with how these turned out. How important is it for me to wash these before we wear them?

I think they turned out great...even with the blue showing. I think it looks good! Good job!

I think they look great too.............

I'm pretty sure you should wash the shirts BEFORE you put the transfers on them - and I think I remember that you should NOT use fab. softner.

I did wash them before I ironed on the transfers. The directions state I should wash them again after. I'm wondering how important that step is.

Your Cars shirts turned out great!

I'd suggest washing the shirts both before and after applying the iron-on transfers.

I read a few posts about ink/colors running on shirts when they got wet while at WDW, so I decided to wash my shirts after applying the transfers. It took 3 washes for my white shirts with transfers to come out without any fading/running of the colors. My dark transfer shirts were fine and did not have any fading. I also added one cup of vinegar to the wash. I read somewhere it helps set the color. I'm not sure if it helps, but I don't think it can hurt. (Just rinse twice to make sure you get the vinegar smell out)

did you wash all the shirts together? If they ran- did they run onto each other? I'll try the vingar.

Sometimes, even one wash will ruin the transfers depending on the brand.

Even though I disaggree with everyone who posted here - I would wait until AFTER you have worn them. That way if they crack, peel, etc.., it will be after you have worn them and they will have looked great when you needed them to. Just my 2 cents.

I personally haven't had any problems with my light transfers cracking or peeling until I've washed them a few times. I agree with Amy, though. If you want to be sure to wear them for your trip, I'd wait to wash them until after you've gotten pictures. :)

I did wash them together, but it was only 2 shirts. They did not run onto each other, just right around the design - kind of a halo effect. If you want to be cautious, maybe try washing one on it's own to see what happens. . . again, I'm not an expert, just passing along my experiences.

Good Luck and have a great trip!
