I just went food shopping and got a bottle of wine amongst my other items. The cashier was young so she had to have the manager come over to scan it...after he scanned it, he looked up at me and asked for an ID. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Of course I didn't have it...it was in the car with my purse...I hate dragging that thing around all over...so I told him I didn't have it with me. I told him I haven't been carded it so long....I just turned 40!!! He just said...oh thats ok....your fine.
I know he was just doing his job by carding me but it sure made my day!!!!

Our local grocery store cards everyone who buys alcohol. Period, there are no exceptions. No ID, no alcohol. It does not matter if you are 70.

And I had just the opposite experiance a few weeks ago. I was buying LIQUOR just before Christmas as a gift for my DDad. The man looked at me (I had license in hand waiting) and just gave me a total. I was kinda bummed walking out. At least humour us old women. pirate:

I was thrilled t hat I was asked for my ID....I think I actually blushed!!
