And my husband already ate half of them :lmao: I guess he liked them ;)

ORANGE CREAMSICLE COOKIES

1 pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1 teaspoon orange extract
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
5 drops yellow food color
2 drops red food color
1/2 bag (6 oz) white vanilla baking chips (1 cup)

Directions:

1. Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, stir all ingredients except baking chips until soft dough forms. Stir in baking chips

2. On ungreased cookie sheets, drop dough with 1 1/2 tablespoon-size cookie scoop or by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart.

3. Bake 9 to 10 minutes or just until dough is set (do not overbake). Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks. Cool completely.

These cookies were very good, but I must say I had a very hard time finding vanilla chips. Not white chocolate chips, but real vanilla chips. Hershey's makes them, and I looked in every local grocery store - no luck. Finally, I asked a store manager to order them for me.

I just copied your recipe. I don't eat too many cookies, but I LOVE anything orange cream. Thanks for sharing.

Oooooo - I LOVE orange creamsicles!! Putting this thread in my favorites right now! Thanks for sharing the recipe..:santa:

My husband also loves anything that tastes like a creamsicle..so this one got printed right out and stored in my recipe book!
thanks again for sharing with all of the DIS!
Happy Holidays

OMG, so easy! These sound great! Thanks for sharing!!! :thumbsup2

They were so easy!! I am not one to do cookies from scratch, so this was ideal. It literally took me less than 10 minutes to throw everything together :thumbsup2

That's from this years Betty Crocker magazine, right? I'm making the same recipe later this week. Glad to hear they're good. :goodvibes

Yes, but I tweaked it a bit, and cut the amount of vanilla chips to half a bag instead of a whole bag. A whole bag would have been WAY too much. I think half the bag was perfect.

Good for Halloween too since they are Orange! Then you could do regular milk or dark chocolate chips for an even spookier look! LOL

How many cookies does this make? I don't want a huge batch, so this might be perfect. They sound yummy!

I made them pretty big, and I got about 2 dozen (I think - hard to say because DH kept stealing them). Next time, I'm going to make them smaller.

I posted a recipe similar to this a couple weeks ago...they were made with Tang. They are called Orange Dreamsicle cookies. So good. I bet they taste the same. Did your come out like a peach color? The vanilla chips I used were the Hersheys white chips. I did buy a store brand white chips that specified vanilla chips on the package. Yum!

Mine were a light orange color. Very good (but I love anything that is orangy!).

Thanks so much for posting this. My hubby loves anything orange creamsicle flavored. I am going to surprise him with these.

Thanks for the idea of only using half the amount of chocolate. It really would've been way too much with the full amount.
