I don't spend $99 at Macy's for anything so it's a big deal to me.

Exactly. Even on Cyber Monday, when everyone had REAL free shipping, they still had a minimum on their's.

I can understand a minimum for heavy items, but for apparel or home goods? It's fine that they have a minimum, but they need to stop acting like they're giving us something really good. It's a joke.

OfficeMax had a great Cyber Monday sale. There was a $50 minimum on their free shipping, but since they mostly sell computer equipment and office furniture, it was understandable. I bought a chair that is $209 right now if you go look at it, for $119. Awesome. I made the $50 minimum, and it was here less than 24 hours.

I've bought from Macy's before. They are definitely not here the next day.

It's not a "big deal"... it's not a deal at all, really. Spend a $100 to save $6! WOOHOO.

I'm an Amazon Prime member, and it's worth the $75/year to me. We buy from Amazon quite a lot. I love buying camera equipment to have it here the next day for $4.

I'm more peeved by receiving their "Extra 20% when you use your Macy's card" coupon, but 3/4 of what they sell is excluded! At least in our store it's that way...almost everything is one of those "EveryDay Value" things.

I signed up for a Macy's card, used it right there in the store. I received my Macy's card in the mail. Then I received a bill saying that I was late on my last payment. It was the first bill I had ever gotten. They wouldn't fix it. I paid my bill right there in the store, and canceled the darn thing right where I stood. I was so mad. It went on my credit report!! I have worked for years to get a good credit score, and haven't missed a payment on anything. I was livid.

OP, thanks for posting that. I got the email, but didn't really read it closely enough to see the $100 limit. I was looking forward to ordering a jacket for DD with the coupon and the free shipping was a bonus. Guess I got all excited for nothing!

They usually don't hide it that well. I can't imagine how many folks go through the entire site, fill up their carts to $75-$80 before realizing that they haven't made the quota. That's where Macy scores. Either folks will pay the shipping, or they'll increase to $100 so they don't have to pay shipping. They don't want to lose what they've spent time shopping for.

That's why I never trust a "free ship" from Macy's.

Drives me right up the wall, and seems almost kinda sneaky/underhanded... I mean, they're not FORCING you to buy anything, but if you go and find something you like there, then find out you DO have to pay shipping or spend more buying OTHER things...
