Just found a Maclaren Volo stroller at a consignment shop for $50. We are going to Disney in December and now I need to decide to bring the Maclaren (with no recline) or my Citi Mini which has a nice recline.

If the use of the stroller was for any of my older kids when they were 3, I wouldn't even be asking for your opinions. BUT, this little knucklehead is a firecracker! We do not go back to the hotel in the middle of the day for naps. That takes way too long back and forth.

I'm just curious how he is going to do. He is such an unpredictable little fart! :lmao:

Anyone else with a child like this?

Both strollers fold nicely and don't take up much room on the bus. I love my citi mini but don't want to take it if I don't have to. He NEVER sits in it and since I got the Maclaren, he asks to be pushed in it. lol

Just asking for opinions and to have a light hearted conversation about crazy 3 yr olds is all. Nothing too serious here. :thumbsup2

Just realized I posted this on the wrong board. Thinking it needs to be moved to Disney for Families.

I took my City Mini on our last family trip for my then almost 2 year. He is now 3 1/2 and I would take it again in a heart beat for our upcoming trip in December. This trip we will have two little ones, so we will be going with our Summit X3 instead of the Mini. I love my Baby Joggers and I would never even consider a smaller umbrella-type stroller.
Our little guy is a spit-fire and he will go all out for as long as he can until he just can't anymore or he straight up passes out. I like to have a comfortable place for him to sit or sleep while we are on the go (we also don't do afternoon breaks) and an umbrella stroller just doesn't fit the bill. If you're little one doesn't nap, it might not be as much of an issue. It honestly wasn't that hard to carry around, was easier/more comfortable to push around all day and had enough space to hold all of our bags/snacks/etc.

We took the Maclaren Twin Techno for our trip. I was very happy with it although it does recline I think my daughter took some naps without it reclined and we didn't want to wake her so we left it. I also think having a stroller he likes to ride in versus refuses for me would be a big part of the consideration.

I would take the one he likes to ride in. When DS was young DH stayed home so my only option was an umbrella stroller that my older DD could carry on the bus. My only complaint was that it was so light weight that it fell over when DS was not sitting in it.:rotfl2:

Seriously strollers are such a pain at Disney that if he would not ride in one I would not take it.

It's been a while since our DD was in a stroller but we had the Volo for a few trips and absolutely LOVED it. Ours was made of a mesh-like material, which made it very cool if the day was warm, and also dried out very quickly if it rained.

The stroller didn't recline, however, DD sat back into it far enough that she easily leaned her head back or to the side if she got sleepy. She was very comfortable in that stroller and it steered like a dream. DH and I both are tall and we actually argued (not seriously!) over who got to push the stroller!

It was also very easy to collapse and was very compact.

We sold it at a garage sale a few months ago and I have to say it was bittersweet! Great stroller! :)

Thank you ladies for the replies. So far it is looking like the Maclaren will win the Disney trip. ;) As much as I love my citi mini, seriously, I love that stroller! He is really, really loving the Volo. I think I have figured out why, when he is in the citi mini, the seat sits so far back that he can't really look around. In the Volo, he is comfy and can still look around ad check out whats going on. I have eve caught him putting the straps on and clicking himself in. This is a win! :thumbsup2

Well. I took the Volo out for a test run to an air show this weekend. I forgot all about the umbrella stroller syndrome. Where you have a ton of stuff loaded on the back of the stroller, kid gets out of stroller and suddenly...WHAM! All that stuff is now on the ground.

Has me rethinking of taking our citi mini and just using the volo for zoo trips or shopping malls. :thumbsup2

Oh and not to mention the 2 drinks I had to hold while also pushing the stroller. I have a big family and we just have a lot of stuff, even when we try to not take stuff with us. Stuff accumulates lol :scared1::rolleyes1

My twins are the exact same way, neither wants to be in a stroller and my son is very big for his age. We have two Maclaren Volos and they are, at this very minute, sleeping peacefully in them at MK.
