Where can I buy a relatively cheap Maclaren stroller in Canada/Toronto? I'm looking for a Volo and they are all $230 in Toronto. In the US, they are selling for $110. I can't believe the price difference. Companies won't send outside of the US, although I did find one on ebay for $98 US, but they will only send it via UPS. From what I read about UPS, by the time I pay for brokerage fees, duty, taxes, I mind as well have bought it in Toronto. Maybe I will have to take a adrive to Buffalo.....

well i got mine at "The Bay'

Here is what i did: It was $159 cad there. I waited until they had a 15% off all strollers sale (at least 1ce a month they do this) and i held out until they also had a saturday/sunday only use your bay card for extra 10% off. If you don't have a bay card, then you can get the 10% off anytime if you apply for one. so it would be $159 less 15% less 10%.

Now if you don't have a bay card, th en you can wait for 15% (or 20% that comes up too!) off, with a 10% off if you use your bay card. PLUS when you apply for a bay card you get 10% off. so you would get 15% off then 10% then 10%.

That is the cheapest way you will get it. (that I know of)

HOpe that helps,
Good luck!

Wow, $159 is a really good price. Do you mean $159 after the discounts or $159 before the discounts?? The volo that the Bay has now is $229, which is the rate all the stores in TO that sell it is asking. Thanks for the tip for the stroller sales and scratch and save.

Hi! I bought the maclaren volo, with the mesh seat it was $159 regular price.
they have the cloth seat at $229.

then we watched the flyers for the 15% (or 20% ) off, and let a few weekends pass when they were on sale, in hopes for a "10% off when you use your bay card" weekend. so the stroller was $121 plus tax. THEN we have a visa from scotiabank (visa gold) so we had cashed in points to get a $100 bay gift certificate. (which i used $70 of it on a baby gift for someone) so we had another $30 paid for, and since more than half was still on the bay card, we got that extra 10% off.

so hows that for making good use of the system? LOL!

Bought both on Ebay.
Here in Toronto they wanted $450 for a Twin Rally and I got it for $202 US + $38 CDN Brokerage .
We also have a new Mac Quest..... $279 here and I got it for $140US...it all worked out to $190 CDN.
I just asked the seller to put shipping price under $100 and that way keep up extra costs @ customs low.
I think the volvo they sell is like $89 US + $20 US shipping. If you asked for package to be worth $50... you'll probably pay under $20 CDN so it'll all come to under $150 CDN with the dollar right now :thumbsup2

Zooper has a similar type of umbrella stroller too...... called the Salsa!!
Try calling Macklems in toronto for prices!

How long ago was it that you bought your volo from the bay? I just went this weekend and the mesh seat one is definitely $229.

Thanks everyone on your great advice. I'll check out the Zooper too. Does it also have a high weight limit? That is a must for me as my dd is 50lbs.

omg thats terrible! i bought it in june i think...and i checked here again in ottawa maybe 2 weeks ago, as i was showing my friend what i got and how light it was, and it was still $159. it was Bayshore location. maybe see if you can get a transfer from the store, or maybe the price went up. i am surprised if it did, i would bet they have the wrong model at that price. toys r us even is $159.

good luck!

Thanks a lil bit goofy!! I called the bayshore store last night and they now have the volo on sale for $127.99!! So I told them to transfer it to the store near me at that price. Strange thing is the Bay near me is selling the exact same stroller for $189. What is that about?? They did tell me that the price tag they had on the volo was wrong showing $229. That was the price for the Truimph. Thanks again for this great tip!!

Prices in Canada are insulting - I live in Windsor and buy my strollers in U.S. The thing is with Maclaren though that Kushies owns the distribution rights here in Canada for Maclaren, so they don't honor any strollers bought outside of Canada. I swear they are making a 100% profit since I got a Mac Triumph in U.S. for $109.00. I couldn't believe the insane prices on Macs as I called around Ontario. They need to get a clue since our dollars are almost at par - I'm lucky that I can go shopping in U.S. as I can get 2 strollers for the price of 1 here!

Good luck, Tiger

Hello! I am glad you were able to get it on sale. That must have been much better than the over $200 that you thought you would have to pay! Enjoy, we love ours. DD loves ours. It is red with black trim, ironically she calls it her mickey-minnie stroller. LOL if only she knew that it was bought because of our upcoming trip (ok so she needed a new stroller but i wouldn't have bought this expensive one if it hadn't been for the upcoming trip) we love it, it was a great investment.
enjoy!

Lil bit goofey--just realized you'll be there the same time as us. we're going Nov 29-Dec 6th. And it's also our first family trip to Disney or anywhere outside of a 2 hour car ride up north!! If I see another red volo, I'll say hi. I think the one I'm getting is also red!! Thanks again.
