Macarons (French-Style Macaroons)?

This is my first thread, so HI to all!

I was wondering if anyone knows if you can find macarons (aka French-style macaroons) anywhere in the parks? Maybe at Boulangerie Patisserie? It's not listed on the AllEars menu... but a girl can hope, right??

I've never seen Macarons anywhere in the parks, even at Boulangerie-Patisserie.

I'm going to venture a guess that the items at Boulangerie-Patisserie are not made on site. Macarons don't travel well so that may have something to do with it.

Hmmm, I thought they did have these at Boulangerie Patisserie. I am a big coconut fan and when I saw "coconut pyramid" on the allears menu I was interested. Turns out it's a bag of 4 macaroons, or so I thought the CM told me when I asked.

Nowhere on Disney property, as far as I've seen.

The only place I saw them in the US was in Las Vegas. Payard at Caesar's Palace. These were hand made macarons.

Disney confections don't get that fancy.

The typical American coconut mound is NOT a French macaroon.

I have a feeling they aren't widely found in WDW is the heat and humidity. French macaroons need a fairly dry cool temperature to stay fresh and not deflate.

I actually have a strong dislike (bordering on phobia ) of coconut... something to do with the texture. BLECH! So while i adore French macarons, American macaroons aren't for me. I guess I'll just need to go back to Paris, how sad!

I'm pretty sure I had some two weeks ago at the Boulangerie Patisserie. They come four in a baggie and they are not that good.

Well, we do have Laduree on the Adventures by Disney schedule for dinner, so I can't miss the place! I definitely will be buying macarons when I'm there.

Back in December of 2009, Boma had a macaron on their "special occasion dessert plate". I'm pretty sure they're not a regular Boma item, and I'm not sure if they even have them anymore, but this is what they had then:

No luck at WDW, but for a quick, non-pricey fix, if you have a Trader Joe's near you, they sell macarons.

There are some places in FL you can get good macarons. The French bakery chain 'Paul' has a few locations and I think their macarons are great. I used to eat them in Paris so I was very excited to run across a store in Miami Beach! They are also in Aventura, Sunrise, and Washington DC.

Wow, I had no idea there were Pauls in the US! I used to grab a quick lunch there all the time... I miss the Savoreux sandwich...

We had this same plate at Boma in February. I wish these desserts were on the regular buffet.

DS had been in Paris the month before and was raving over these little confections, so having already googled an image and description of them to see what he was talking about, I recognized the macaron when I saw it on our special occasion plate. It was good!

Our son is also getting married at the end of the summer and he has arranged for the chef in charge of the reception to make macarons as part of the dessert offerings. He went to a tasting two weeks ago and was happy to report that they are going to taste just like the ones he had in Paris.

A while back there was some kind of rumor that the new bakery in DD (can't think of the name of it but I think they do gluten free items or something) might have macarons as they were known to have them in NY??? I don't know...

Oh, BabyCakes? I'll definitely check! It makes sense, because I think macarons are naturally gluten-free (they're made with almond meal).
