Macaroni and Potato Salad

I too make both of mine the same. I use finely chopped onions, bell pepper, and tomato. Usually one of each. Add a bit of mustard and mayonaise. I cook my macroni and cool it and for the potatoes I mash them up before adding all the other stuff because my family likes it this way. I also sometimes add sweet pickle relish and sometimes I don't. Then salt and pepper to taste. Happy munching!:)
 
I love the macaroni salad my mom makes, nothing too fancy.
A box of elbow macaroni, chopped celery or celery seed, green olives sliced or bought that way, and chopped onion if the people eating it like onion. For dressing she mixes mayo and miracle whip with a little yellow mustard and some sugar. If it's too thick I think she uses some of the olive juice to thin it. Yummy!
 
This one has an oriental "wang":

1 lb spaghetti
3/4 cup oil
3 tbs sesame oil
1/2 cup soy sauce
broccoli florets
a little bit of shredded carrots

Really good and constantly requested
 

here ya go Debbi.. you can adjust seasonings, always start with less than called for and then add until you like how it tastes to you.
Potato Salad

10 big red potatoes- do not peel
12 eggs
Boil both in a big pot of salted water until potatoes are fork tender- after they cool peel potatoes and eggs

1 medium red onion- chopped
8 stalks celery-use the leaves too0-chopped
potatoes and 10 eggs-thick slices
sweet pickle relish -1/2 cup.. drain it a little bit

season with celery salt and pepper

mayonaise-approx 1cup
sour cream-8ounce container
yellow mustard 1 heaping tablespoon

gently fold this into potato mix.. add more mayo if it seems dry
top with sliced eggs and a touch of paprika
cover and refrigerate

My friend, a professional chef, loved this potato salad..

First I cubed the potatoes.. not cut them, in uniform sizes. Then I added FRESH parsley.. and it was delicious.
 
Potato salad courtesy of MIL - it is the BEST potato salad I've ever had:

Potatoes
Vinegar
Finely chopped Onions
Sweet pickle salad cubes
Finely chopped Boiled Eggs
Chopped celery
Sour Cream (instead of mayonnaise)
Garlic Powder
Mustard
Celery Seed
Salt, Pepper

Pasta Salad (this usually does not go over very well, but my family likes it):

Pasta
Tomatoes
Canned Tuna
Celery
Peas
Salt
Pepper
Italian Seasoning
Mix Good Seasons Italian and Good Seasons Garlic dressing together and pour over the salad

Can you tell I do NOT like mayonnaise??? :p

There is egg in A LOT of the things that I eat. But I would simply rather go hungry than eat anything that contains any trace of any variety of seafood or fish (inc chicken MCnuggets) or anything that TASTES like egg (patooey). DD agrees with me, but DH loves all kinds of seafood and eggs. I carry Altoids with me at all times and have a box on my nighttable. I love him despite his breath :rolleyes:
 
In Hawaii, I noticed that they serve potatomac salad. Yup, potatoes and macaroni all in the same salad. Talk about carbs!!! I always add a little mustard to mine. It gives it a little zip and color. Cucumbers are also good but you have to serve it right away.
