Do any of you use any kind of anti-virus, anti-spyware detectors?

I have had my macbook since June (and I love it). I gave my mom my old laptop and since she downloads lots of games, I tend to every few days run the spyware programs, etc. I feel so weird not doing that on my mac. I worry that something will happen when using it. :confused3

Yes I am a worrier.... This came from reading the Limewire thread.

Well, I don't have any virus detection software, but ATT filters all my incoming messages for viruses. Every once in a while it finds something and removes it. But, usually Macs are not susceptible to viruses. They usually try to run and exec file, and Macs do not have any such function.

Nope, I don't use any kind of anti-virus or anti-spyware software; I've just never had the need.

Most viruses and spyware are developed for the Windows platform, simply because of a larger market share. Because of this, most Mac users don't feel the need for an anti-virus or anti-spyware program. Just use common caution and it should be fine.

It wouldn't hurt to have one.

Thank you... sometimes I just need a little of reassurence with this simple things.

Don't you think that as Macs become more poplular they will have the same problems as PCs? More of those lovely viruses will be written for Macs.
