Just curious how the switch over was when using a mac computer and then a droid phone.

After todays announcement was a big let down. (16g base and 8mp camera, seriously?!) After waiting for 6months, I think it is time to move on.

I saw a quote from someone that said "yesterdays technology at tomorrows prices" Seems to be true now

I feel like I did in 2010 when the tint on my Disney rose colored glasses began to fade. :(

So the short of it before rambling on is if you switched or started with android and have a mac, just how hard is it when you have been a sheeple or whatever they call us.

I had an Android for about 4 months. I couldn't handle it and went back to an iPhone!

I missed iMessage for one thing.

I love my Macbook. Switched over to Android about a year ago and I love it.
No complaints. I have been able to download apps to work together with my Samsung Note 3, example text messaging app, note taking app, etc. I will be staying with the Note for a very long time.

Since having smart phones, my husband has always had an iPhone and uses a Windows-based PC. I have always had an Android phone and I use an iMac. No issues here.

I had an iPhone for years and years. I made the switch to a Galaxy S4 and the battery is TERRIBLE, otherwise it's not a bad phone. I have found maybe 1 or 2 apps that are not available for android and that's annoying.
I just moved to a Macbook pro and the difference is astonishing. I bought my mac refurbished so the price was comparable to what I would have paid for a PC with similar specs. iPhones tend to never come down in price unless they are beat up I noticed.

This is true. I have the Samsung Note and they don't hold their value very well. They are probably going to be hard to resell too.

Just SO not a fan of the android operating system--I find iPhones (and Apple in general) to be much more user friendly than Android--just seems more logical to me. (I'm sure their are others with the opposite opinion!)

Honestly I upgraded from a 4 to a 5 last year & really don't know way--differences are few. I have no need to upgrade at this point.

I bought my Iphone4 used from cowboom (division of Best Buy) for a fairly reasonable price--tho I don't remember for what now.

I have HP laptop at home & Mac Air for work--gravitate to the Air (as does DD 16) We bought the HP for DS19 for college almost 2 years ago. But he asked that his birthday/grad present/Xmas gift be the MacAir instead & he loves it. That is what DD will get for college as well. No one is a big fan of the HP--but it was MUCH cheaper than the Air. (about 25% of the cost)

I can't wait to get the iPhone 6, it sounded good to me today.

I have an iPhone 4s and I want an upgrade.

I dumped my iphone in favor of a Galaxy 5S two weeks ago. It's a bit of a learning curve but so far I have absolutely no regrets over having made the switch. I love the bigger, brighter screen and the much better camera! There were only a couple of apps that didn't convert over (Samsung has an app for importing your contacts, calendar and a list of apps from iTunes). I never had a gmail account or used Google Play/Google Wallet before. It didn't take long to figure it out.

I do regret that my music is no longer on my phone - it's all on my iPod Touch now and I don't always remember to bring it along. But as far as using the Touch, I haven't picked it up other than to listen to music. The Galaxy is a very easy phone to adapt to using.

I have a Moto X phone and my primary at home computer is a Macbook Pro. For work I usually use a Windows desktop or laptop. I also a have a iPad Mini, a Nexus Tablet, and a couple of Kindle Fires.

I really have no problems switching from device to device. I haven't used iTunes for years (even before I switched to the Android phone) so it isn't any big deal for me. I really don't listen to much music though and when I do I just stream Pandora or something. I know that my phone can play mp3 files, I just haven't had much interest in actually doing it.

Most of my digital movies are either on my own back-up hard drive at our house or Ultraviolet. We have a few Disney movies at Amazon. As I said, switching from device to device isn't that big of a deal here.

What was so disappointing?? I've never gotten the base one and my iphones have been sold for as much as I've paid for them 2 years later. I would be shocked if you would be able to do that on an android. I can't stand our cheapie android we use for swagbucks.

I love my Galaxy S5. The camera is awesome. The tap to share with others is cool. It does tons of stuff I don't use too. Of course I have never liked apple products at all. They just seem so dumbed down to me. I despised iTunes as well.

I'm aggravated Iphone 4 cannot get IOS 8. I may buy a 5s now to get LTE (on Straight Talk) but I'm not sure.

Apple has figured out how to convince us that $700 phones need to be replaced every few years.

We have a Mac at home and both my husband and I have Android phones. He went from the iPhone to the Samsung Galaxy 5s. He couldn't be happier. He stores his music on his iPod classic and listens to that in the car. No problems with us going back and forth.

I am a Mac user, have been for several years now. I got the an Android phone. About 6 months later I bought another iPhone and sold the Android.

I grew up with first computer being an Apple ( 2e or something like that) I used IBM type computers thru most of Schooling, Took my computer class in College on MACS by personal choice. Every computer I have ever owned has been IBM/Windows Style. I love Apple but don't love prices. My phones have been android from Smart phone start, I like Iphones but feel they are almost a status symbol and I'm not paying The Apple prices. I will say I did pay Apple prices for my IPod because I like it 2000 times more than mp3 player that was piece of trash and PITA to get music loaded to it. I could take or leave ITunes but I do love how easy it is to load stuff on.

If you prefer Android phones, you'll be fine with a Mac unless you really like iTunes. The music and movie management on Android is entirely different, I would say not as good. You can still manage the same things, but it takes a lot more effort. You manage each app's media by itself, so you would copy your MP3s over, then your movies. There's no concept of "syncing" between the home library and the phone.

If you stream everything, then you'll be fine for sure.

I'm confused by what you mean here- if I have music in my Google music it shows up on whatever computer or phone I am using. The same is true when I want to use amazon music. Does that not work for others that way?

I was a BlackBerry an Mac user. Now that I've had the iPhone through multiple generations, I can't imagine changing to something that doesn't have an Apple on the back.

On the camera, how many more megapixels did you want. To be honest, 8 MP is actually overkill on a point and shoot. I'm more interested in the additional stabilization. One thing about having Macs, iPads, iPhones, Apple TV... is that it "Just Works."

I've been using iOS 8 since it came out in Beta. Some of the features, such as the handoff really are nice.
