Hi all!
I love my mac and enjoy making slideshows out of my photos on it. However, I need to make a slideshow of the year for my students' kindergarten graduation. I used powerpoint last year b/c I like the transitions, photo options, and the ability to add graphics.
Can anyone recommend a photo slideshow program for use on mac? People have told me to use iphoto but it just doesn't do what I need it to do for this particular project. I am willing to purchase a program but would like to not spend too much $$$.
Thank you!!!

I don't care for Imovie for what I am trying to do..maybe I just don't know how to use it correctly.
I have powerpoint for mac but was hoping for a slideshow program.
Thanks!

iPhoto does slide shows. What features is it you are looking for?

Yeah - I guess I'm stumped too. I'm not sure what you want to do that iMovie can't do.

I can see iPhoto's limitations but iMovie should have everything. And since you have PPT, why not use that again?

Like I said before the only other one I've heard of is PhotoMagico. I put the link above.

Good luck.

I have been unsuccessful at using Iphoto for slideshows b/c I use around 4 songs and want to time to music to the slides. I don't like the fact that Iphoto times the slides to the length of music.
I was also hoping to be able to use titles and maybe graphics.
The reason I am asking about a slideshow program is because the PowerPoint takes up a lot of room, takes forever to load and does not display as nicely as I would like when the slideshow is played on the cd.
If imovie can do the things I mentioned, then I will try to learn more about it. I fiddled around with it a few times and found it frustrating. iphoto makes great simple slideshows if you just want to organize photos to music.
Thanks for the link. I will check it out.

iMovie can do all that. I don't like the iLife 08 version. If you have an older copy of iMovie HD I would try that one. Don't know anything about the iLife 09 version.

It does create very large files while you are working on it. That is just a function of keeping the original quality.

Once you send the video to iDVD it would be smaller. I love iDVD and you can do some cool stuff there too.

I have imovie in my iLife08. I guess I will check it out and see which I prefer.
Thanks for the help. :)
