Okay I have a Maclaren Quest that I have washed the seat part before without any problems. I have not figured out how to get the hood off yet though. Can someone please tell me how to detach the hood to wash it?

There are clips that attach the hood to the frame... at the base closest to the seat. Unclip them and the hood comes off.

Maybe I have a different year.....the only place the hood is attached is on each side. There is a plastic looking gadget on each side. Does that sound familiar at all?? Or maybe I truly am just clueless :rotfl:

Oh wow....I finally figured out these little clips on the side. But now that I can get it off how the heck do you wash it? It still has the frame in it (of course) - so how do you wash it?

Thanks for all your help!

I took mine off as you have and washed it by hand with a scrubbing brush in the tub. It really helped.

Thanks I will try that. I may soak it in a little Biz too. It actually gets the abuse of pop or whatever drink we have dripping down it if they slosh in the universal organizer. I actually just bought the "liquid holster" and tried it on the stroller last night - it is great!

I never got around to buying the universal organizer. DS is almost 4 <gulp I can;t believe he is that big> so I decided to skip it now. I abuse the top of ours by folding it back and letting the top be my cupholder. It works pretty good too. ;)

I think soaking it will help get some of the stains off too. I ended up with one I htink but all the black makrs from it hititng the ground did come off. I have the moss bubbles pattern so it is not light but not dark either.

I have done that to the hood before too - but when I least expect it Sammi will grab it and pull it forward and my drink goes flying. My dd will be 4 November 1st and since our last Disney trip in January I've used it less than a handful of times....but I still love it. I'm hoping to travel lightly this trip and be able to ditch my wrist weight I put on the front two legs and the organizer and only use the basket and my new liquid holster. That thing rocks - it was pricey for a drink holder ($19.95) but I think it will be worth it.

never heard of the holster thing. Could you post a link?

I don't use my strolelr much except for Disney now but I love love love it. I bought it just for going to Disney. The other uses are icing on the cake.

You sound like me. We took DD on her first disney trip at 13 months with the big Graco travel stroller. OMG - it only took that first trip and by early summer the next year I was shopping for an easier one. I bought my Mac in June (give or take) 2004 so I could break it in for our September 2004 Disney trip. It was the best investment I ever made. I have been so pleased with it. And it still looks brand new. It has worn well. But I want to get it washed up for our upcoming September trip because it does have some pop on the hood. My mom had it on her front porch (screened in) for a while too so just want to get her washed up and ready to go. The liquid holster has a website www.liquidholster.com that has some good info on it and then I purchased it from www.albeebaby.com. I put it on last night. I haven't taken it for a test drive yet....but just in the house I think it will work perfectly. I'm actually considereing a second one since we usually have at least 2 drinks between the 3 of us.

Thanks, I may have to get that. You'll have to tell how it works at Disney then I'll bite.

I never took my Graco. I had seen how hard it was with my nephew when I was pg so I knew I needed an umbrella stroller.

I bought a Chicco Capri for DS when we took him at 9 mos. It was ok but before the warranty was out the tubing rubbed holes thru the fabric. I called and they knew it was a flaw and sent me some caps to cover the tubes with a new seat. I decided I needed a Mac for the quality and weight..DS is a heavy boy.

I ordered my Quest from albeebaby and am so glad I did.
