Did you know there are two grad nights, Fri. and Sat. of our school vacation?? That means MK closes early, I think 7:00 pm on the 22nd and 23rd. I know there's other great options, but our last night (which will be Sat.) has always been at the MK. Oh well, I'm not too upset, we're going on our very first cruise that week too!!!!

Oooh, thanks for posting. We're leaving on Saturday so that day doesn't impact us, but I was planning on doing Friday in the MK. We also always do the MK on our last day. Maybe we'll just have to do MK during the day and plan on hopping over to Epcot that night. Hmmmm, more planning!

No, but I am REALLY bummed about how much we have to pay for airline tickets that week! Just got an e-mail from our travel agent and the price quoted was almost 3 times what we are paying for airfare in November!!

Jill

Just wanted to add....I wonder if we are going on the same cruise?? I am not sure of the dates and I don't have a 2005 calendar nearby, but we are going down on the saturday, staying at the Polynesian one night and then cruising for 4 nights on the Wonder and then 3 nights at the Yacht Club (but we are trying to change to the BWI) coming back home on the sunday. We also fly Delta Song out of Logan. And my name is Jill and we live in MA...mmmmmm! :)

...so the grad nights won't affect us. Other than that, what do we think about the crowds? I'm very hopeful it won't be out of control since we're so far away from Easter.

Yes, the air prices are OUT OF CONTROL! After looking around, we've decided to drive. Never done it before, but I think it'll be a good experience for the kids. Peak season doesn't end until Sunday, so we'll drive down Friday and Saturday, arriving 1st thing Sunday AM. Then checking out Friday, going to DisneyQuest that day and leaving that afternoon.

Where did you find out when Grad nights are? We're down there April 23-May 1.

Ack! Our first trip during spring break (we're NYers with that same week off)
Air is outrageous from here also. Double to triple what we usually pay....

I miss the days my DS was young enough to miss some school....

I'm finally back to my post! My son had his Confirmation today

:D , then we went up to Natick for our first IMAX theatre experience, WOW, it was awesome (saw Spiderman), oh my gosh, the seats shook. Will definitely try that again.

Anyway...JESW, ok, this is too weird, way too many things in common! We're also flying back on Sunday. So tell me you're on the 7:00 pm flight back? :D We're going on the 17th Wonder cruise (I'm beyond excited for our first cruise!!!), doing the BWV before and after for 7 days.

I got our flights 330 days in advance, was on the phone at midnight and literally 15 minutes later, the low fares were wiped out (from Song). I still couldn't get the direct flight coming home, had to take the connecting in Atlanta and paid 113.00 one way, so still a great deal but have a little hassle getting home. Got the direct flight, one way, for 104.00 on Song on the 13th of April.

Monarchfan...I read the grad nights somewhere here on the Dis a couple of weeks ago.

We're also planning on driving. Used to drive with my parents when I was a kid, so I figure my boys will be ok. The drive down never bothered me then because of the anticipation factor, but the drive home was never fun. We were usually grumpy. But since it's either drive or stay home - we'll try the drive! Our new car is great on gas mileage so it's so much better than 4 airfares!

Hey Jillpie, looks like we will be cruise mates!! I finally found a 2005 calendar and we also set sail on Sunday the 17th! :) By then our kids will be DS10 and DD6. How old are your kid(s)? This is our first cruise, and while I am excited about it I am also nervous. :)

We are flying down and back on Song and taking the 11:35 flight each way. I know a lot of people stay and take a later flight, but when I wake up on the last day I figure the vacation is over and just want to get home. We also need to get the kids calmed down and ready for school the next day.

I get to be excited/nervous about our trip in November...it's getting close!!! :)

Jill

Oh my gosh, thats so cool! I only know of one other dis'r going on this cruise and she's from Ct. (Wish Upon a Star, screenname). Anyway, we're so excited for this cruise too! Our boys will be 16, 13 and 12 for the sailing. Speaking of the last day, we are one of those that are taking the last flight out, BUT, we're getting into Logan at midnight, ugh. I think I'll let the kids sleep in a little bit, then take them to school. I can't let them miss that day, as we're pulling them out on the Wed (noon) before vacation for a 3:00 flight. I can't wait!!!!!

Leota,

I saw an $89 rate on Song a couple of weeks ago leaving from NY (not sure which airport).

Thought about driving to NY and leaving from there, but decided we might as well just do the drive the whole way. I am dreading the ride back, but we're thinking of it as a once in a lifetime experience! My boys are happy as long as they have their gameboys and some books. We're also going to get a portable DVD player so they can watch some movies.

Those of you going on the cruise, have you done it before? It's lots of fun!!

Susan

Susan...no, we've never done the cruise before, so this is a first for us. I am so excited and am living over on the cruise board to absorb everything. I'm trying to stay away from the picture posts, as much as I'm tempted. There has to be some surprises!
