Lynx 50 Bus from POP to Seaworld

They should find a way to extend that I Ride Trolley from the Orlando Premium Outlets Vineland ave location to DTD,I see those I-Ride Trolleys constantly all over International Drive, extending them to DTD would give all the Disney people access to Sea World,Aquatica,Discovery Cove, both Premium outlet locations,Pointe Orlando, all the attractions on International Dr.,Wet n Wild, and even a short walk to Universal since the trolleys don't go into Universal.I doubt the Disney or Mears people would like that plan but it would simplify it and make it less expensive to get to the I-Drive area.

why not just get a van taxi at pop to take you to SW. May not be cheaper than teh bus but you'll be there in 15 minutes, not two hours.

Adding "Waterparks + More" would cost $10 more than buying 1-day passes to Aquatica.

But it looks like if you're planning to do SeaWorld anyway, the upgrade to add Aquatica to a SeaWorld pass is only $28; that's for one visit to SeaWorld + one visit to Aquatica, without the SeaWorld free bounce-back. The 14-day passes would be a $43 upgrade, which would be $12 less than the WP+M option.

But as others have posted, I would not advise trying to do both on the same day.

Also, don't forget that WP+M includes both Disney waterparks, as well as Disney Quest, which is a nice way to spend an evening if the park you're visiting closes early.

How do we water parks and more for $10 pp? If I try to upgrade from the WDW website, it's significantly more.

Yep, that was my thought..thanks for spelling it out.

It has never taken me two hours to get to SW from WDW. To get a cab or car service will cost about $50 each way vs taking the bus to MK and then monorailing over to the TTC to get the Lynx bus. Shouldn't be more than an hour all told.

joelkfla spelled it out in a previous post. I was taking the day cost for Aquatica vs the day cost for TL (for instance). I didn't take into consideration the cost of a combined pass for SW/Aquatica. But, I wouldn't be trying to do both on one day either. Way too frantic for me...but I'm pretty laid back.

To me it looks like the I Ride Trolley is for getting around the I drive shopping and resort area and is subsidised by them. They even have their own Improvement District like the RCID, International Drive Master Transit and Improvement District.

I think the reason they don't go all the way to Disney is that they don't want to be a shuttle to WDW just like WDW doesn't shuttle people to SW or US. They want you to stay in their area and spend money in their shops and their restaurants.

Yes you can make the argument that now Disney people can get there and spend their money their but I guess they feel more people may use it as just a transportation means to get to Disney and go "off property".

Who knows maybe they aren't allowed to leave the I dirve corridor as part of their special district status.

Created in 1992, it is a special taxing district formed under a public-private initiative with Orange County, the City of Orlando and the businesses of the International Drive Resort Area.

Yes, it costs $55 pp, which is $10 more than the cost of Aquatica-only tickets.

The point is, if you're not going to SeaWorld, getting multiple visits to both Disney waterparks and DisneyQuest would cost you only $10 more pp than getting Aquatica tickets, and you wouldn't have to pay extra for transportation.

It's not the actual cost that's $10, it's the difference between the two options.

I understand now. Guess I'm a bit dense.

Anyway, I've taken all of this into consideration and decided that we'll give each park a full day, including SW. So that's 5 days right there. We'll be there 6 nights, the 7th day isnt really a day to me, more like time to relax at the resort. That leaves one full day left. This summer my kids only lasted 4-5 hours at our local waterpark before shivering so bad we decided it was time to leave. So, we could probably get away with 4-5 hours at TL or BB on that free day and then have the rest of the day left to revisit a park.

It's actually less than $55pp if we buy TL or BB tickets straight out. Well, that is what I'm seeing online. Does anyone know if the resort will sell us TL or BB tickets at the last minute if we decide to go that route?

Or we could just purchase the tickets I've found online in advance and plan to go there.

This is way more work than the last time I went to WDW!

You can buy one day tickets at the gates of the water parks.

Yes, you can buy them right at the gate. If you decide to go again, they'll even credit you the 1 day price towards adding the WPF&M option to your ticket. You'll have to ask them the time limit for doing so because I'm not sure. We did it the same day.

Another option is if you are going to give a full day to each park, you really don't need the hoppers. While we personally like them, I even found on our last visit we ended up hopping a grand total of 2 times in 8 days! And really only because I paid for it, I felt the need to actually use them. If you think you can be happy with 1 park on each day you can ask to exchange your "hopping" extra for "WPF&M". It's an even exchange as they cost the same.

I also wanted to add that for my boys just being at the resort pool was a huge deal. Their first trip they were 6 and didn't even know there were waterparks. Just being at the pool for a couple hours was their favorite part. They'd ask all day long, while at the parks, WHEN are we going to go back and swim. We're at Disney! We own a pool! Come to think of it........at 11 it's still the thing they want to do most at Disney!

Don't worry about ordering SW tickets just yet. You should watch nearer to your date for specials. While we didn't have to pay for admission, I still needed to buy 1 ticket for my mother. Closer to our trip they offered adults for the kids price. I've also seen kids free with adult admission. With 3 that would save you quite a lot. You get an e-ticket which you print right away, so no need to worry about delivery.

regards

If you persist in attempting to visit both on the same day:

Google sent you the long way around (it's OK, they said it was in beta ;))

It's actually less than a mile, and if you zoom in there are nice wide sidewalks & crosswalks. You would exit the SW parking by the bus drop-off, and walk along Sea Harbor Dr. to I-Drive.

The I-Ride Trolley bus also provides service between the 2 about every 20 minutes. The fare is $1.25 for adults, free for kids. It's a separate system from Lynx, so there are no free transfers.

Yea I should have looked at the area more but what surprised me was why did they make it as hard as possible to walk between the two?

Did they spend 5 minutes before the bulldozers hit the ground and think gee if we lay this out a little better we can make this more like a resort and create a better connection.

I can only think that when they built Aquatica they had to situate it that way for road access.

There's a residential area immediately to the east. I'm thinking they had to put the waterpark on the west and the parking lot on the east to minimize noise incursion. And, of course, the entrance has to face the parking lot.

They did build that nice new sidewalk I mentioned. SeaWorld could open up a back gate, but the number of guests walking between parks probably wouldn't justify even the operational cost of a second gate.

Someone mentioned a shuttle. If that is offered, it seems like a reasonable solution.
