A new dining thread popped up a couple of days ago. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2943286
The young women writing the thread shared that her mother noted a fake shellfish allergy on their reservations. The OP was coached by her mother to tell chefs of her fake symptoms.
Several posters, rightly, condemmed the OP regarding her actions. I was one of those posters. As the parent of a child with a life threatening food allergy, I was very offended by the actions of the OP and her mother.
Tonight, all of the critical posts were deleted by a moderator. In addition, the OP has edited her orginal posts (they were in her Boma review) to remove mention of her lying about her food allergy.
So...my question to those who might be affected by food allergies, as my family is, was it right to have critical comments deleted and for the OP to edit her review? She did not seem apologetic at all when people called her out. If her parents are going to teach her to lie about having a food allergy, I feel jusitified giving my two cents in attempt to explain why lying about a serious medical condition is WRONG. The mods seem to be siding on the other side of this issue.
