Lyft XL for 5 plus bags

Hello, can anyone tell me if an XL ride share would typically have room for 5 people plus 3 suitcases and 1 carryon? We could split up and do two vehicles if necessary. I saw the cost of Lyft Black XL is way more expensive than two regular ones.
We are flying into Sanford, if that makes any difference.

Thanks, I’ve been looking into them but many are quite expensive ($300+) vs $250 if we had to take two Lyfts. That’s round trip. Is there any reason you’d recommend car service? Not as many ride shares available?

Exactly. Many Lyft drivers don’t want to go to Sanford, since there are so few flights in and out of that airport in a given day. They could wait several hours before getting a new fare. While you likely wouldn’t have a problem getting a Lyft coming from the airport, getting one to go back will likely be a problem.

Oh I see! Thanks. So if I really wanted to save a few dollars I could use Lyft from the airport, and book a one way town car for the trip back.

Ride Share use dynamic pricing, AKA price gouging. You're tired. How long will you wait, hoping price will drop?
Having a ride waiting, at a set price has value. More value if a grocery stop is included.

We were in your shoes in August. I ended up choosing to bring two giant (29”) hardsided luggage plus some carryons and backpacks. All 5 of us and our bags fit. I will admit to being occasionally stressed wondering what car we would get. But all in all it worked out. At worst, a couple of us could have split off from the rest to take a 2nd Lyft. But we never had to. And we moved resorts halfway so I had to worry about luggage 3 times.

Thanks! We will have one large suitcase, plus 2 more but I’m not sure the size yet (my in-laws bags) so I’m hoping they’re just medium size ones. Did you have any trouble getting Lyft back to the airport?

I had no problems ordering Lyfts but I flew in and out of MCO.

I thought drivers couldn’t see your destination until pickup? I believe they are only notified that a rider is requesting a 45+ min ride. Otherwise they won’t know your destination until they are within walking distance.

That has changed recently, if I remember correctly.

Sanford is more then 45 minutes. Could be an issue even if policy didn't change
