We are thinking of spending spring break in Orlando. Because we are a family of five, we need two hotel rooms (we don't "fit" into one, anymore, even if it's allowed).

I was thinking of splurging (look at all the money we're saving not getting hotel rooms, honey ;) ) on a luxurious villa.

I remember last year (when I was looking for a cheap villa!) several people had posted on a villa they had enjoyed--maybe the diamond villa?

Please let me know of your suggestions!

Thanks!

There are SO many nice places to choose from. That was my most difficult part of our trip planning. Once I made a choice, my mind was at ease. We LOVE "our" villa and can't wait to go.

This is where we're staying in August. It's a bit expensive (more expensive than a lot I've seen) but since we're splitting the bill with my nephew's family, we thought we'd go all out: http://www.allstarvacationhomes.com/res/property.asp?ID=378

All Star has many more to choose from (they have condos & townhouses too) and different price ranges. I like the fact that the house you choose is the house you get. The villa's, condos & townhouses are located within 2 miles to Disney, throughout Formosa Gardens, Acadia Estates, Emerald Island and other developments (if I'm not mistaken).

Good luck on your search and trying to choose just one  .

You can also try www.vrbo.com where you can see exactly the house you're getting as well.

And we found our villa ended up being less than a hotel room last time :) with a lot more space.

Allstar are great but you really do pay a premium for renting with them. For a slightly better deal go with the owner direct try www.daystarvillas.com

Anybody know which subdivisions are known to be the closest to Disney... I'm searching daystarvillas....

thanks

The house we always rent through www.villadirect.com has:

Pool (with fiber optic lighting)
Spa
Big Screen HDTV
DVD Player (with kids & regular DVD's)
Themed bedrooms (Disney, Spiderman) for the kids
2 master bedrooms, (beautifully decorated in a beach theme)
200TC sheets
Fridge with ice maker/water
Xbox (or Nintendo, can't remember)
Free long distance/local calls
Beautiful decorating without being "snobby"
Screen/sliding door to pool has a child alarm
Pool toys
Gas barbecue
Nice patio furniture
Washer/Dryer
Dishwasher
Backs to a wetland for privacy and wildlife
4 bedroom/3 bath (one with jacuzzi and one with big walk-in shower)
2 minutes to Disney
The management office has "concierge service" where you can get discounted attraction tickets and discount rental cars

The name of it is the Sunshine Bay Villa and it's at Oak Island Cove, but they have tons of other houses too

And it only costs $130/night.

Love it, love it, love it.

if you would take a condo instead - then timeshares can be a good deal.

check

www.skyauction.com
click on USA/Canada
Click on Florida (right side)
click on hotels only (right bottom)

and yes there are pages. you are looking for a timeshare they will be for 7 days only (generally starting Fri, Sat or Sun - mostly Sat).

the Sheraton vistana resort has the diamond check in. It appears pretty often.

If you don't like to bid or don't want to wait (since you are going next year you might have to wait until Dec to see 2006 for spring break) - you can try this site

www.condodirect.com
but believe me if I have been shocked by their prices. they lately did a big price increase. You can get a better deal here by waiting (sometimes) until 60 days before you leave.
