LuvLuvLuv's Memories TR Starts Pg 73 - Honeymoon Day 6.1

WOW - just went through your PJ - you deserve a medal of honor, to definitely win the lottery and get a bit heap of pxie dust :wizard: - and I agree that your story would make a great story line - for a soap opera like Days of Our Lives...:lmao:

The Memories wedding will be beautiful and so special - we had our VR at Luau Beach and it was perfect - you are getting close and I'm sending you positive vibes that everything you've done will come together without any more problems...:flower3:

Great dress/shoes and headband choices - and it's good you stuck to your guns about the pics - he'll thank you in about 25 years....:cool2:

________________________________

so the first round of friends got into town yesterday--and i realize that i am just too old to go out on weeknights  i feel awful, lol.

i think we've established that df can't stand up to his mom. let me take you back several months when target offered us a gift card just for registering with them. we went in there and scanned silly things just to get the card. we never told anyone about it because we wanted to do the disney registry. same with jc penney--got the perk--no plans on using it--didn't tell anyone.

last week i posted our wedding website with the disney registry as the only registry listed on FB.

the next day after i post that--df gets a text "you really want dog food and toilet paper for your wedding present?" :headache: what in the world?? did she really stalk every store in the tri-state area to see if we did a registry?? if we post the one we want to use online--why would you go against our wishes and look elsewhere. i swear that some people just want to be difficult. he called me when this happened, and immediately after we hung up, i called target and jcp and canceled our registries.

fast forward 2 days--she texts him--what happened to the target registry. he says... i dunno :headache: :headache: :headache:

i asked why he lied to her and why he didn't just tell her--and he said--you do it. the whole thing has me livid. i will obviously wear the pants in this family. :lmao:

so i got 2 texts from her at 2am last night. she wants to know what happened to the target registry she found online. i haven't replied yet, but it will be so back handed--trust me. we do want to use the disney registry--especially for things that really aren't in the budget right now. he desperately wants to do the wild africa trek, and i want to go to the spa... that's like $400 right there. that crazy pants would probably buy us $300 of toilet paper before she contributes to something we actually want.

she also asked if anyone was having a shower for me :scared1: i can't even talk about that right now  when it comes to that stuff, i am what my friends consider deena-no-fun. i don't want to play games, i want to eat, snack, have a drink and socialize---more like an open house type setting. i have no clue what or who she would invite--probably people i don't even know, don't like or care to be around. i'm not going to battle her--i will be an adult--go and collect  my good friends know that the way to my heart is a hibachi grill and a sephora gift card.

that's my rant for the day.

well--maybe one more. when you're waiting on the check that's funding your wedding to come in the mail--it's like waiting for rain in a drought. when they say 7-14 business days, you think in your head--maybe i'll get it in 3. i am beyond anxious to get stuff ordered, deposits paid, etc--and i am losing my mind. then you know that once i deposit it--they'll make me wait a couple days because it's a large amount. i feel like i'm losing time :confused3 really it's just that i'm impatient. i have until august 23rd to get the deposits in, but i'm just very concerned about ordering the dress.

well i guess i have an email to respond to :(

Deep breath mama! Deep breath! I can't believe your FMIL, she's almost as bad as mine! You know, the one who writes you a check in your engagement party card for your dishes since she went to order them too late, then you go to order them and she didn't give you enough of money? AOY! So I can totally feel you there. I'm so sorry. Maybe she'll just disappear eventually? Let me know how the texting goes though!

As far as your shower goes, you'd prob be better off doing it as a bachelorette/shower.. more fun and more intimate since it's not too much time before the wedding? Then there's no games needed! =] I'd plan one for you if I was closer! <3

Man, what is up with all of these FMILs?!? They're horrendous!!! I wear the pants in my relationship too. It's nice, but irritating.

I agree... just take DEEP breaths! And at least she won't be there on your wedding day, right? (Although, you never know. You should have told everyone the wrong date... :lmao:)

This is precisely what I have done with about 3/4 of my relatives. . . :rolleyes1

I agree on the FMIL thing, though. ***? Have they all gone crazy? Mine chilled out after her BF said he was looking forward to it. It also helps that DF's two brothers and their GF's are Disney fanatics, too.

:goodvibes

Wow, that is a little crazy about the registry! By the way, I registered at Target and never got a free gift card :( So weird how guys won't stand up to their mamas sometimes. I mean, it seems like a perfectly good explanation for what you did and why you have the registry, so why wouldn't he just tell her the truth? Men, lol.

i do think 99% of them are crazy---i hope i'm not like that someday!!

i have no clue why they just can't be honest. they either deal with her griping, or deal with me griping after i had to take her griping

Crazy Busy Weekend. I didn't even get on the boards after I left work on Friday afternoon.

Friday:

I went for a small spree in Ulta. I also had a call with the GF cake people--why they call me at 8pm on a Friday night is beyond me. I originally wanted one layer of the Simply Brilliant cake--she said I would have to mail the ribbon and the crystals to them because they don't furnish them :confused3 Too much work. Then I said, well what about 2 mini mickey 2-tiers.... they don't have filling--we like filling--that's out. So my first 2 ideas are out and I just started spouting off ideas and asking if she had any insight since she was the cake "boss" lol. With no offense to anyone who's had a good experience with them--I think she was a little slow. How can you not have an imagination if you work with cakes. We went around and around and around--and to be honest with you, I have no idea what we ended up agreeing on. It's probably better that it be a surprise so I don't get the wrong vision. I asked for Lime Green, Hot Pink and Aqua Blue (our original colors from Page 1!!!), I asked for fondant balls, 6 inch cake, 4 layers split with yellow cake/dark chocolate mousse and chocolate cake with pb cup mousse. Beyond that I have no idea--I said to make it fabulous. So $189 later--I have a cake. It better be completely fantastic for $94.50 per person, lol.

I later went out to the racetrack where a mixture of a lemon sonic slush and citrus vodka pretty much knocked me over. I was in bed at 2:30, but got up at 7:30 ready to start my day, lol. I had places to go.

Saturday:

Went to the bank--was able to take some of the cash back... the rest will be available Wednesday. Went to Target--picked up a few things including face wash wipes, qtips, cotton pads, hairspray and my fekkai hair mask. Back to Ulta--grabbed a few more things. Over to Sephora--got some travel sized makeup setting spray. Went to the Jeweler to see when my salesperson would be in next--they said they can't release people's schedules. Well they must not want the sale too bad--I'm not a stalker--I just want to buy my $899 wedding band... in cash. :headache: Next, time for David's Bridal to open. Last time I was there, I asked if we could cut off the train, she told me it would cost $200+. Lame. Online I saw you can order it without the train--so when I went in... I inquired. It was $50 LESS to order without the train and she was going to charge me $200 more---I don't like that kind of business. So I pretty much won. Dress paid for and ordered. :yay: Went home, picked up Dave to go for hibachi lunch. We were going to go look at suits after lunch--but his lunch wasn't sitting well with him... so we had to go home :rolleyes1 I dropped him off and went to Hobby Lobby and Staples. I got transfer paper, glue, and rhinestones for my shirts I ordered from Jiffy Shirts . com. In my time crunch I've decided to go crafty. I hit the grocery store before going home. Got home, groceries put away, got on the computer. Shoes, new carry on luggage, headband, his wedding band--ordered. :yay: I decided to do a test shirt--and I love out it turned out. I printed out the rest of the transfers, but haven't got to iron them yet. I finally got to bed around 2--what a busy day.

In the midst of all this--I forgot the detail that induced the whole citrus vodka slush. FMIL has been planning this post wedding hoedown. She's been looking at places, inviting people we don't know, don't like, don't talk to--all into it. Dave insists she's paying, but I keep telling him that she says that around him, but then makes comments around me that feel otherwise. My FB post finally put it all in perspective. I had made the comment that my GF cake was costly and better sing dance and do tricks for the cost. She then replies that she'd buy cupcakes for the reception if I needed "help". :headache: :scared1: :headache: :scared1: :headache: I think that was our answer. My family already said they weren't traveling--and pretty much all my friends work on the weekend nights... so really it's all HER people, his friends work weekend nights so they won't all be there... HIS family... and that's it. We decided against it... I just need to tell her all this. I'm dreading it. We're doing this to save money. It was different when this was spanned out over 16 months... but putting all this together this quick is a major crunch... we come back, then it's Christmas, then it's tax season when I'm going to get hammered again. Why people can't let me just catch up is beyond me. I think that everyone is under the impression that since we're going by ourselves that it's free or something. Top to bottom--with hotels, flights, spending, food, apparel, photos, pre trip spending, officiant, etc etc etc etc... everything came to $11,500. I know we could have stayed at ASMovies, did the regular dining plan, not do spa/tours, take magical express instead of the town car, etc.... make it a $6000 trip, but this is our wedding and we want it to be special for US and no one else. I'm willing to spend it on us, but not on people I don't even know. He really wants to do the Jungle Trek, and I really want to go to Mandara---so that's what we're gonna do :)

Anywho--- Sunday we went to Red Lobster and Walmart... nothing too crazy.

Tonight we have to sign the LOA and tomorrow I have to send that and Jason's contract out.

Wednesday I'll book flights, go pay for my band, book his Jungle trek and payoff my hotels. Still a ways go to, but it's getting there!!

I think that's all for now---I hope everyone had a great weekend!! I need to get pictures of my first creation up here!! Will do tonight!!

Hi Hi pretty lady! =] Sorry that slush did you in! But it did sound fabulous when you texted me about it! hah.

Shopping sprees are always fun! Loves it!

Sorry to hear that they wouldn't let you know when they'd be in.. sometimes sales people can be so sketchy! I hate it. =X But whatever, their loss.

Woohoo for saving $50! Stupid David's Bridal thinking that they can get more money out of you, they CLEARLY don't know who they're messing with!

I do have a question for you, as far as the setting spray goes.. does it really work? I'm debating on whether or not to splurge on some for myself! ;D

I use the Urban Decay De-Slick because I'm like an oil well. They have the All-Nighter one for regular skin--but I haven't tried it. Sephora has travel sizes of it so maybe you could try and see if you like it. Embarrassingly enough.... I sprayed my makeup on Friday before going out--and it looked perfect until I washed it off Saturday night  That's really gross--but I was busy.... and I did shower... just not hair and face--there was no time for that :rotfl: A lot of people swear by the Model in a Bottle too... but I'm just too oily and shiny :)

Now THAT is an expensive per person cake! Hopefully it comes out well. I'm sorry you didn't have the best experience with them. </3

I think I'm also happy that the at home reception got canceled--- it sounded like a bigger hassle than it was worth. I still don't know what we're doing about ours... I told DF he had to plan it, so that means it won't happen. :lmao:

And UGH stupid DB! Glad you saved some money though!

Thanks! I LOVE Urban Decay, it's seriously one of my favorite lines ever. So I'm definitely going to go and check it out! Travel size is great! I've heard of the Model in a Bottle before, but I think it's more money?? I can't wait to try it!

And yeah, that's not gross at all! I'm the same way! I only wash my hair every other day, if that. Haha. And the face, as long as I don't have mascara running down my cheeks, I'm golden if I'm in a rush! :rotfl:

this was only a test... but it came out great!!

I love the shirt! The rhinestones look great!

So, you already ordered your cake? I thought we couldn't order a cake until 2 weeks before the date needed. Please tell me more.......

Oh your FMIL strikes again. Well at least she offered to pay for cupcakes :rotfl2: after planning a big party you have to pay for.........

Deena, LOVE the t-shirt! It's adorable! :thumbsup2

I also wanted to send good vibes that your cake turns out well. My dh ordered me one for my 40th a couple of years ago and ... it was really bad! None of us liked it ... even my little niece and nephew who will pretty much eat anything hated it, LOL! I'm not trying to scare you ... just stay on top of those cake folks and hopefully you'll end up with a much better result than we did! :goodvibes

So, that shirt looks fabulous! I love it! =] Can't wait to see the others that you make!
