Ok, I am having to book our holiday for our September wedding. We intially were going to fly out on the 8th and stay for 14 nights and then allowing us to go on our 3 day cruise which leaves on the 22nd.

However, the allocation of flights through Frequent Virgin have been already allocated and so we will now probably need to fly out on the 7th. So what I am getting at is do we get a free night which would prevent us from being homeless on the 21st!

We are looking to book 6 adults at the beach club for 14 nights so that would give us 84 nights. We are having an Escape wedding so would we qualify for a free night?

Also if we book this many nights do we get any kind of discount on the rooms or does the discount only apply to bookings made directly with Disney?

In order to get a free night, you'd need to set up a room block. If you've booked your wedding through Disney this is easy to do—your Wedding Consultant can set it up. If you've booked your wedding through Virgin, it may be trickier to accomplish. In that case, I would say to just book another room independently for your bonus night—if it's at the Beach Club, they may even be able to combine it with your other reservation when you check in so that you don't have to check out and back in for that extra night.

If you do set up a room block, you will get discounts on nights, but only if you book them through your room block, not through a travel agent. However, even if all your nights are booked through an agent, you can have them manually added to your room block to count toward the free night.

Each of your 6 adults would need to be staying in a separate room for you to tally 84 room nights. If they're in pairs, you'll have 42 room nights—still not too shabby! :thumbsup2

We are booking our wedding through disney so thats fine. I thought the discount was a bit of a long shot but I will definitely do the room block when I book the wedding in Jan.

The booking is for 3 couples so it would be 42 nights. How many night do you need to qualify for the free night?

thanks for your help, i knew you would come to the rescue!

1 free night is 25 room nights (unclear if you would get 2 if you made 50 room nights)

I thought they stopped giving Escape brides a free night, did they bring it back?

Anybody who sets up a room block and guarantees 25 or more room nights gets a free night. :thumbsup2 The "2 nights free at 50" seems to be at Disney's discretion—it's no longer automatic.

I asked the question is about the 50 nights to get a second free night and they advised me they are no longer doing this its 1 free night fer bride and grrom no matter how many rooms you book! HTH

The room block discount is 10%, right? So our friends/family couldn't book rooms under a different discount and have it apply to our room total? (Because, really, 10% isn't much!!!) And is there any way to get DVC rooms to count towards this total?

Room blocks confuse me...

Have I got a podcast episode for you.... unfortunately, the DIS won't let me post it! :teeth:

The room block discounts range from 10%-30% depending on resort. Your friends and family can book using ANY discount *and* using DVC and it will count toward your room-night requirement. The only thing it won't count toward is the 25 needed for a free night. If they book outside the room block, their reservation numbers can be manually added to your room-night requirement tally by your sales consultant.
