Hi Sarah! It was so nice to meet you too! But I am super-bummed I couldn't take your leftover cake off your hands. And that the pb chocolate part was dry.... They owe you a bunch of those pb choc cake slices from BoardWalk Bakery!

The cake got better as it sat in the fridge but I had to leave half a tier at the Poly, along with my roses.

The top tier was super yummy and not dry at all. It was also choc pb cup so not sure what the deal was but we loved it. Maybe we were just on sweets overload cause we had the slipper dessert and white choc mickey edible centerpieces as well.

Here is something I found online----red velvet cupcakes with chocolate icing. Mmmmmmmmm.

I think I need to break out my pregnancy disclaimer again. I had been doing so well, but today was my glucose test (which involves fasting) and I haven't recovered. My stomach is eating itself! All I want is sweet stuff! And red velvet is my absolute favorite!!!!

Carrie- So glad you are home safely. Can't wait to read the TR!

Hee hee! And prolly not as delicious - I'm sure the flavors were something ghastly like amaretto-raspberry-lemon-lychee-kahlua mousse with orange-almond-rum cake.

Well, today's cake of the day pic was supposed to be a shot of whatever cake slice I purchased at the grocery store downstairs. But I discovered that none of the interior layers had been frosted all the way to the edge! Talk about cheap (or lazy!) - every slice had huge gaps between where the layer frosting ended and the cake-edge frosting began. Bad show!

So instead, I give you yet another of my wedding cake idea pictures - I picked this one for the color more than the decorations...

I just learned from Sage at StarFruit Productions that our wedding video is among the 10 finalists for the Knot's 2008 Real Wedding Awards! The cool thing is, these were picked by editors, not by other brides (who, I'm sure, are physically only able to vote for their own videos! )

Their site is so lame - I think you may have to register separately for myrealwedding.theknot.com - in the brown nav bar toward the top of the page (but not actually at the top), where it sez sign up/log in.

It took me a few tries to log in. THEN it dumps you on some random page, so you have to click "View Finalists" and then select "best wedding video" and look for us.

I also found out you can vote again every day.

By looking at some of the catergories it seems like it's all about who you know, like some have been viewed WAY more times than other.

But I doubt you really need the knot's approval I'm trying to stay away from wedding sites while planning my wedding. I know we just want a simple wedding, so I don't want to think I *need* a whole bunch of things I really don't. Plus, brides be craaaazy!

Your video is so cute!! I really liked the dancing. The raspberry cheesecakes on that slide show look delish. That store bought strawberry swirl cheesecake I have in the fridge suddenly doesn't look as great. But, I'll still eat it! LOL

Ok so I baked a chocolate pie tonight and remembered that I was supposed to share the recipe with you so here it is WITH PICS!!!

Toni's Chocolate Silk Pie

1 unbaked single pie crust
1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup of sugar
1 stick of butter
1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder
3 eggs
2/3 cup of evaporated milk
1 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

In a bowl microwave the chocolate chips and butter for about 2 minutes. stir it until its smooth. Wisk in the salt, sugar, cocoa powder, eggs, evaporated milk and vanilla until its well blended. Pour the chocolate mixture into the crust.

Bake for 30 minutes. The chocolate will look puffy but the center will still wiggle. Before serving it should be cool you can also stick it in the fridge until you are ready to serve it. The chocolate on top will kinda look like a brownie but the inside is nice and creamy. Here are some pics!
