Lurker coming out of lurkdom to Celebrate Three Birthdays at Disney! PTR

I'd go with the fun card too, I wouldn't have that much problem with spending that, and your kids probably won't either!! I'm waiting to see HOW you're gonna make a woody costume!! That one caught my eye!

It's so awesome that you are planning to surprise your mom, I'm sure she'll love it very much.

The birthday options: I would choose option 1, but I can see myself spending the gift card happily. If you won't be spending ... maybe it's better just to get in free on your bday. You're only there a few days, why limit your park time?

Hmmm...good point annabean. I really don't want to limit my park time. I guess we could take the free day, but I just don't want my mom and sister to have to use a day on their park hoppers and then also pay for MNSSHP too.

A few people suggested now that I take the gift card option. I started to think about why I don't buy many souvenirs, and realized it's not because I don't WANT to...it's because I'm usually too cheap! :rotfl: I stress over every purchase (even in my everyday life) but I guess if it's free money from Disney I won't have to worry about it!

Maybe I'll convince DH to stop at the Disney outlet that I know is on the way to an out of town wedding we are going to this weekend and "practice" spending money on Disney stuff!

Next installment about costumes coming up soon!

I love your pics! You are right, your mom does not look 60! You are all too cute! I :lovestruc Mushu! Mulan is one of my faves! I love that your mom named her dog Mushu! Love it! :goodvibes I do think your hubby looks like Woody! That would be sooo great if he went as Woody! I hope that works out! (will hang tight to read ur next post)

Thanks TeaForTulips! Wait til you hear what my "doesn't look 60" mom wants to add to our Disney trip!

Sorry it's been so long between posts...things have been a little busy around here. So where was I? Oh yes, costumes....

I wanted my husband to be Woody but the costumes are too expensive. Plus I didn’t really want to be Jesse and I kind of wanted our costumes to go together. Then my sister came up with a great costume idea for me and DH – TROY AN D GABRIELLA! :rotfl2:

A little back story - On our Disney trip in 2007, my sister wanted to stop and see the HSM show at DHS. I had no idea what HSM was at the time, so I was less than thrilled to take time out from riding rides to watch a dumb show. But we stopped and the songs were kind of catchy, so when we got home, I decided to watch the movie. I LOVED IT! I have always been a big fan of musicals (especially Grease growing up) and HSM was such a fun show. Plus, Zac Efron isn’t too bad to look at either! :rotfl:

So I thought it was a great idea when my sister suggested we be Troy and Gabriella…and much easier for me to put together a costume.

I am planning on either making or buying DH a shirt that looks like this:

And just having him wear jeans and sneakers. I am also trying to find an inflatable basketball (kind of like a beach ball) so that we don't have to take a real basketball to Disney in our luggage. What do you think? Think he will look like this? Minus the hair and muscles...:rotfl:

I haven't decided exactly what to wear for my Gabriella costume. Here is Gabriella:

I know I have to get this "T" necklace like she wears in the movie

and then some kind of sundress. Maybe this one?

So what do you guys think? Good idea? Much cheaper than a $100 Woody costume...but will we look silly since HSM is a teen movie?

$100 for a costume does seem very expensive.

The sundress is pretty... something you can wear over and over again. I'm not sure if it's "Gabriella", never watched HSM. My cousin did dress up as Gabriella for some costume party, she was wearing some red dress. Honestly, I don't know if that's a "Gabriella dress" either... hehe.

I don't think it's silly to dress up as Troy and Gab tho... why not? It's Disney... you're suppose to be a kid. :)
