I can imagine how scary this is for you ((hugs)), but as mentioned, there are so many new treatments and lots of hope. I have 2 friends with lung cancer whose treatments have blessed them with a new lease on life, I hope yours will too. Bless you all. Of course we have no news....time will stand still until next week! Went in to school today and it was just a long, hard day. Had to tell most of my colleagues and they were just so crushed. A depressing day all the way around. People are just so shocked.

I sent a letter to all my parents today telling them the news and asking them to come to the classrooom tomorrow at 8:30 so they can be with their child when I tell them ( my kids) the news. This is what I did with the breast cancer diagnosis and it worked well. Then I'll dismiss my class to the othere 2 third grades and allow the parents to ask questions they may have that they don't want to ask in front of the kids.

I know I can do it, but it'll be tough. DH has been getting some more information and talking to the pulmonologist and the cardio-thoracic surgeon and I feeel quite confident in their abilities.

I'll see my regular onc on Monday afternoon and have a PET scan Tues. AM. Bits of info. will come here and there.

I just ca't figure this all out. I had so much more of the fighting spirit with the breast cancer. Right now I'm just exhausted.

Than kyou so so much for all of your support. I'm a big goofball and actually re-read every one several times a day. It means so much.

I think it's probably a combination of shock, disappointment, fear of the unknown, and most likely a bit of depression.. Give yourself a little while to adjust to the news.. Talk about it if it makes you feel better - if it doesn't, then don't.. Just take a little time to adjust and I bet you'll come out swinging even harder than you did before!!
