My friends DIL was diagnosed with breast cancer many years ago.. Over the course of those years it has metastisized to just about every place you could think of - including her brain - and she still fights on with courage and dignity.. To see her, you would never know that she has cancer.. There have been so many advances - with new things coming out continually - it's quite possible to live a happy, normal life (well as "normal" as normal is under these circumstances) while still waging the battle..

You sound like a strong person and a tough fighter.. Give it your best shot and know that all of us here are praying and pulling for you..

Be strong and keep a positive attitude, sweetie - attitude has a lot to do with successful treatment. I will ask DD30 (The Music Teacher) to remember you at her weekly novena to St. Jude - he can be very powerful when things seem bleakest!!!!!!!!

My dear friend's Mom was a heavy smoker & they found lung cancer. She had surgery to remove the part of her lung & she's fine. It's been about 7 years since the surgery...never even needed treatment afterwards. Also, she quit smoking the day she was diagnosed.

My cousin's MIL ~ same scenario. Heavy smoker, found cancer in lung, had part of lung removed & she also had smooth sailing. Of course, she likes living on the edge, because she picked up smoking again.

Point being, as C.Ann said, there has been so much more advancement today that God willing, yours was caught in time & you can make it over this hurdle too. You sound like a very strong person (& very loving.)

Sending hugs, prayers & pixie dust your way. I will pray for your children too. When my Mom was dx'd with cancer, my Mom & my Dh both said that I took it worst than my Mom did. So I understand the fear in your children right now.

I don't know..... all my breast cancer stuff was done there, so I kinda assume this will be too, but I'm totally in the dark here and not in the mood tonight to look up all the info on the net and figure it out. Still mostly shell shocked. DS17 is just reeally quiet; I'm e-mailing his teachers tonight; DD20 is in denial and likely will stay that way. She just can't handle things well. We are not telling DS6 until we know a bit more.

Told my sister and she was like Oh Man, what else! I'll tell my brothers tomorrrow. Enough is enough for today.

Much gratitude for the many prayers. I know they will get me through this. It's easy to fight a beast you know.....it's the unknown that's scary. For some reason this is in my life now. But it'll be over at some point and stuff will get back to normal again REally would like that crystal ball, though!!
