Lunch with an Imagineer or Tour?

Long time lurker, first time poster.......

I have a question for all you Disney veterens. For my birthday, my wife is treating me to either:
a) lunch with an imagineer, or
b) one of the behind of the scene tours

We are heading down a day before the rest of our family so we can have some private time, before the other 10 arrive.

The one problem I see with having lunch with the imagineer, is that we arrive on a Friday at approx. 9:30am(airport). Lunch, as I understand, starts promptly at 11:30am. This would be the only day we could do the lunch.

Thoughts?

I have heard great things about the Keys to the Kingdom tour,
and would love to take it. YOu get to go underground into the secret world of disney. I would opt for this over any other tour.
here is some information on it: know it is long but it sounds so cool and you get lunch with it.

KEYS TO THE KINGDOM
Magic Kingdom

Offered daily this four and a half hour to five hour tour celebrates Disney Magic! Learn about the Magic Kingdom's history, and backstage secrets. Hear stories of Walt Disney, his visions, his philosophies, and his accomplishments. In addition to Disney history, Guests finally get the opportunity to find answers to all of those "neat" Disney trivia questions and get an inside look at how the MAGIC KINGDOM operates by venturing downstairs to the main Utilidor entrance, MAGIC KINGDOM Wardrobe, and Cosmetology. Guests also visit the MAGIC KINGDOM Production Center, where they have the rare opportunity to see parade floats up close.

At the 2 1/2 hour mark, the group breaks at the Columbia Harbor House for a delicious meal which is prepared and waiting for all the Tour Guests. Orders are taken in the Tour Garden, next to City Hall, upon check-in before the Tour begins. Menu choices include a Fried Chicken Strips Basket, Fried Fish and Chicken Combo, Garden Galley Salad (mixed greens with feta cheese, pecans, grilled chicken, and pineapple in a zinfandel vinaigrette), Starboard Deck Sandwich (Toasted bread topped with ham, cheese, tomato, and broccoli slaw), and New England Clam Chowder or Vegetarian Chili served in a bread bowl.

Offered daily at 8:30, 9:00 & 9:30am. Tour starts at City Hall just inside the Magic Kingdom Main Entrance.

Cost is $58 AND Admission to the Magic Kingdom!

goodluck and let us know what you decide!!

I haven,t had lunch with an imagineer but did the keys tour and it was fabulous. I,m doing another park tour in 2005.

232271 - thanks. I would go on the tour sat morning. Everyone else get in in the afternoon.

Ryley26 - thanks, also. My sister did one of the tours at Epcot and loved it.

May I reccommend the "Around the World at Epcot" Segway tour? It was really fun and a rare opportunity to ride a Segway Human Transporter.

oh that is good. Are you and your wife going on the tour? then
I would do the keys to the kingdom, like I said it sounds super.

good luck and hope you have a blast!
