Hi! My fiance' and I are getting married at SBP in May 2012. Our wedding is at 10:00 am. I have the Passporters wedding guide and it has been very helpful.

We are having an Escape wedding. Our group will probably not exceed 12. If we have 10 or more, we are thinking of doing something at the Attic (with the $1,000 minimum, it is perfect!). Will our planner be able to book that or not since it is an escape wedding? If so, will we have to hit the $7500 minimum?

Otherwise, does anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to go to the parks because I can't wear my dress! LOL! Also our parents are all around 70. I can't see them schlepping to Le Cellier with us at lunch.

I am so confused.... :confused3

TIA!

What about an outdoor location? I don't remember what the minimums are but they may be less if its outside a park or restaurant?

Not sure that outdoors would work with our parents. It will be warm in May!

Yes if you have a private reception that your planner books it will trigger the $7500 minimum.

Some restaurants have private rooms that you can book and these don't trigger the minimum, such as the one at Citricos at the GF.

As Claire rightly says, using any of the DFTW locations (such as the Attic), will have to be arranged through your planner and will trigger the dreaded $7500.00 minimum.
Claire is also right that quite a few restaurants have private rooms, but many do not serve lunch (I know Citrico's is only open for dinner). Some of the restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin, which have private rooms, may do lunch. I am sure one of our gorgeous S/D brides, who are familiar with catering at the Swan, will be along to fill you in on that one.
I suggest lunch at the GF Cafe. Very elegant and reasonable and with the added bonus of having an excuse to take pictures in that beautiful resort (not that you need one, of course!!!). You can wear your dress at any of the resorts. Unfortunately, the GF CAfe doesn't have a private room, and with elderly people in the party, you may require additional transport to get to the GF from SBP (maybe your included limo could do two journeys???). Nothing is straightforward is it?
I fear that if a private room is what you want, you may just have to bite the bullet and stump up the $7500.00!!
Good luck sweetie!!! Let us know what you decide.

Also, be sure to check out The Wave. The minimums for The Wave are pretty low, and you can book it on your own. :D
