I'm considering using the Attic for lunch for a reception venue, and want to know everything there is to know about the venue.

We'd be having a 12pm ceremony at SBP, so i'm thinking lunch at The Attic would start 1.30pm or so by the time we have finished taking photos. How long do we get to use the room for? lunch minimums are $1000, right? whats the latest you can stay in the room till while keeping in with the $1000 min?

Are the white table covers standard with the room or do we have to hire these?

What are the lunch options? plated or buffet? am I right in thinking with a plated meal we have to choose what main course we want before and can't have a choice on the day? how does it work with drinks?

And lastly *i think* do we have to pay for 'staff' to serve food, drinks? and can we have our cake set up there rather than SBP? is there a charge?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm sure im not the only one who needs to know everything :rolleyes1

If you have any pictures of the room please post away if you don't mind sharing them. Would love to see how the room looks all set up.

Hi!

We had a brunch/lunch reception at the Attic, and it's very dear to my heart, so I'll see if I can answer your questions. Also, you can see the Attic part of my trip report here:

And see more pix in my planning journal here:

I take it you're having an Escape wedding?

You don't have to pay for staff at any Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings event—I mean, the cost is all rolled into the price of the package or the price of the private event you add to it. If you are adding a private reception to the basic Escape package, they can set the cake up at the reception site instead of the ceremony site.

$1,000 at lunch. For Escape weddings, there is a time limit of 2 hours for any private event added to the package.

They are included.

Buffet only. If you switch to a venue that allows plated meals, you *can* pay to have Crown Service, which would let guests select on the spot, but it's very pricey b/c they have to make enough for all the guests to have one of each. You can also serve a duo plate, with two smaller portions of two different entrees on one plate. Most people send something with the invitation that lets guests select their meal in advance. You don't have to give Disney the numbers til 3 days beforehand.

how does it work with drinks?
Disney's set menus, especially at brunch, already include some non-alcoholic drinks, but if you want a bar you will have to either buy a package or pay for what they call "Bill on Consumption" plus a $100 bartender fee (unless the bar sells more than $500 in drinks).

These are pix from our site visit - for the actual event, there are tablecloths.

Thanks Carrie, knew you'd have all the answers :thumbsup2 where would we all be without your wonderful knowledge :worship:

The room looks so light & airy and I love the balcony, think i'm deffiently going to switch my plans around for an earlier ceremony and have a lunch reception here now :)

Are the buffet menus listed on Magical kingdoms the only ones avaliable and do you know if the can be customised?

One more question slighty o/t from The Attic, but do we know if Grand 1 yacht can count towards the Escape $7500 min with a catered event? The MK bridal shoot counts towards it doesn't it?

I'm too lazy to check MK, but here's a direct link to the global menus they're using this year—global meaning they are available at every location.

And yes, everything can be customised. Too expensive? Take stuff off or swap it out! Too much dessert? Cut the one included in your menu! Want Le Cellier's cheese soup? They can add it! Etc.... :cutie:

The bridal shoot counts toward the minimum on *any* day during your trip if you're using Disney photography for your wedding. If you use an outside photog, you must do the bridal shoot the day of your wedding for it to count—this is what they're telling Wishes brides. I dunno what the official line is for Escape brides b/c the whole minimum expenditure situation is different, plus so many use Disney's included photography. Definitely check with your planner, and get it in writing.

Someone asked recently and was told the Grand 1 wouldn't apply to the $7,500 minimum. That makes sense, because it's not a DFTW-controlled vehicle like Cinderella's coach or the Rolls Royce.

However, you will have no trouble meeting your minimum if you're doing the MK shoot and a catered lunch. :thumbsup2

Wonderful, thank you :)

The buffet menus state the are minimum 25 people? im guessing they can be done for less? we will only have baout 18 people max but more likely 14-16

I wouldn't worry about the guest counts. If it's a case where a certain item just can't be made for less than X number of people, your planner will help you figure out a suitable alternative.

I had 3 different buffets, all which stated the "25 min". I had under 20 people for all the events, and nothing was ever said, and I wasn't charged an additional fee :thumbsup2

Thank you :) now when are we going to hear more about your wedding and see all the photos? i'm waiting patiently ;)

Does anyone know how many people you can fit in the Attic? I'd love to have my reception there in 2011, but I think I might have too many guests.

50 people if you can use the inside and outside, with table seating for 36 (meaning that some people would have to sit on the couches/armchairs).

We would really like to have our cocktail hour at the Attic. Our reception will be at ADH right next door. (DF DOES NOT want to have it on the second floor of ADH for some reason). Does anyone know what type of F&B minimum would apply to this? It would be after 5:00 but only for one hour.
