Lunch in MK

I guess I am the only senior that would prefer the Plaza .
I guess I like to know the Castle is right outside the window .
But you will need reservations .
Do not like mobile order …

Nope, you are not alone. I’m a true senior and absolutely prefer The Plaza. Food is meh though passable. But my priorities as I’ve aged have changed. I appreciate the break in the middle of the day… the AC, the ambiance and being waited on.

Backless chairs at Pecos Bills takes that off my list…. not a break for me… and I find it incredibly chaotic. Stairs to the second floor of Columbia make that less desirable… yeah, I know there’s an elevator but not worth the hassle for me. As I said I’m definitely a senior and have found The Plaza for a modest lunch ticks the boxes for me, especially if I’m looking for a midday break and have a dinner reservation later.

Id make a reservation for the plaza...Its fine for what it is. Also the "quiet" upstairs area of Columbia harbor house is no longer a secret...the last few times we have eaten there its just as packed and probably took longer to find a single seat than waiting in the long mobile order line for food pickup...

We like the seafood at Columbia Harbor House although they have gotten rid of some popular items such as their delicious tuna sandwich. We love sitting upstairs and luckily have never had a problem finding seating.
Does anyone know if they have an elevator going up to the second floor? It is getting harder to carry trays of uncovered drinks and food up those stairs! We have spilled soft drinks quite a few times.

If we are eating QS in any of the parks, we arrive right at opening time. Short lines and no problem getting a table. Alternatively, when we're at MK, we hop on the local monorail or a resort launch and head to Gasparilla at GF. Never crowded, nice outdoor seating area, and better choice and quality than at the MK QS places. We love the convenience of mobile ordering and only had a problem once, when the computer went haywire at Pinocchio Village Haus and were at the pickup window 30 minutes after getting the "food is ready" message.

Good question on the elevator! It would be easier. My parents can do some stairs and my kids are old enough to help carry trays. Although, my youngest spills everything, so no drinks for him, lol.

We have eaten at the Plaza many times and have enjoyed it every time.

For us, MK has pretty much turned into a vast wasteland for us for eating. We have absolutely no problem taking a short trip to Steakhouse 71 to have lunch in the lounge, or, take the short boat ride to Geyser Point.

Planning a fall trip and I’m thinking ahead to dining. We will have grandparents along, so I want to make things as easy as possible. We’ll do table service each evening for dinner. I’m fine with quick service for lunches, but if it’s super crowded with long lines and difficulty finding a table it’s too much with both kids and seniors, lol.

Is the Plaza decent for lunch? I know it’s not a great use of a table service credit, but that’s okay. We can pay OOP one meal. We’re fine with basic burgers, sandwiches, salads, which is what it looks like. Or any other tips on convenient lunch options? Columbia Harbor House is my other thought since it has all of the upstairs seating.
This may not be a popular opinion, but we truly enjoyed Peco's Bill's...Tex Mex/Southwest flair. It wasn't in our plan to eat there but that's how it rolled and we all thought it was great! I would also encourage Mobile ordering if it's possible. Casey's corner also a favorite. We also tried Columbia Harbor House but honestly, we were disappointed in it. Cosmic Rays was always a staple for us when our kids were younger and pickier in their choices, but we had the QS DP in November and did not eat there once.

9 times out of 10 if we do lunch at MK and it’s QS we’re getting food from Casey’s and carrying it over to Tomorrowland Terrace. The 10th time we are just snacking our way around the park. Columbia Harbour House is a no go for me anymore ever since they basically killed the non seafood options there. Cosmic Rays is a place for me to fill my water bottle and that’s it.

Plaza was a one and done for me. Seating is too jam packed and I kept getting kicked by somebody’s awful kid. Too claustrophobic for such mediocre food tbh.

Most of the time we are just going back to our resort for lunch or picking something up from a nearby one though because the food is better at the monorail resorts and by 11 or so (when we prefer eating, to beat crowds) we are generally tired from rope dropping and are in need of our midday break. Mobile order from Gaspys or Capt Cook’s, sometimes Kona, and just ear chill on the balcony of the room.

Pecos Bill's used to be really good back int he "toppings bar" day, but then it sort of fell off for a while. I haven't actually been there in a while, but it seems like they have bounced back with recent menu refreshes and are now a more respectable option. It's hard to shake a bad rep though once you have it.
