Does anyone know if they still offer this anymore? The last reviews I can find are from a couple of years ago.

I'm debating on if I should do this or The Keys to the Kingdom Tour for DH's birthday gift this year. He's a mechanical engineer, so either of these would be really interesting to him!

My DH and DS went last on our last trip in August of 2008. My DH had a great time. My DS8, not so much. Good time for adults. My DH is an electrical engineer so he could just talk it up with the imagineer all afternoon. Great take home gifts-- a beautiful autographed plate. My DS does love his-- It says "keep dreaming" it keeps him very motivated to get good grades.

Lunch is Mon., Wed., or Fri at 11:30 at the Brown Derby. Not sure about dinner. We just booked lunch for our June trip - we can't wait.

We're going at the end of August, so I would love to hear about your experience when you get back!

It was $129.92 for the 2 of us. Had to give a credit card to hold the reservation. Was told you pay when you get there. Unfortunately, it is not on the DP. I will post a report.

Thanks for the reply. Where did you find the info on the times/days of the week? I looked on the WDW website but couldn't find any specifics.

Just wanted to let you know that the Imagineer may not be an engineer. Imagineers have all sorts of skills. When our eldest and his future wife:love: did the Lunch, their Imagineer was a graphic designer I believe...some type of artist for sure.

Hey, do you have to pay for the imagineer's lunch too?

No.

Oh, I knew that! I just know that Imagineers can have a technical background, and DH finds all the design and behind the scenes stuff fascinating. I do, too, but I prefer the story of the background rather than all the technicalities of it.

Quite honestly, I might get a little bored during the lunch and I hope he would rather do the Keys to the Kingdom tour instead! :rotfl:

I did this lunch on a Friday in February of this year. I made reservations through Disney dining at the 60 day mark. They needed a credit card to hold the reservation and if you were a no-show it would be charged to your card. (They must have repeated that 4 times). The lunch was fantastic, several choices from the Brown Derby menu with an appetizer, main dish and dessert. We met at 11:30 in the lobby and were given a short tour of the restaurant, then led to the private Bamboo room to meet the imagineer. The table was full, eight plus our host. We all introduced oursleves and the conversation began. Jason our host is a graphic designer for the last 10 years, working on many rides, attractions and other projects in several different parks around the world. We had a very animated lunch where everyone participated. The food was great and we left The Brown Derby a little after 2:30 with some very nice parting gifts. I really enjoyed this and thought it was well worth the $65.00 I spent.
