Lunch by the AKL Pool?

Although I've stayed at AKL before, we only used the pool at night. I'm wondering, do they have waitress service around the pool? Or do you have to go to Mara and get something yourself and bring it out? Does the Uzima Springs bar have food service?

I *think* you can order at the Mara and they'll bring it out to you. They don't actually take the order though.

To expand on Anne's response. I don't think they'll bring it out to the actual pool area, but there is an outdoor eating area of Mara that they will bring food to. If you truly want to eat and lounge by the pool, I believe you have to order your food and carry it back to your pool lounger yourself. I do know that you have to definately order it, and I never saw someone from Mara bringing food out to the pool, just to the outdoor dining area of Mara.

Sorry for not being clearer, Lori's response is what I was getting at. There is an outdoor dining area at Mara, which is part of the pool "courtyard". I don't see why you couldn't take it to where you are sitting though

For those who don't want to retrieve their own food from Mara there is a menu available at the bar. Appears to be like room service, only they bring the food to the pool.

The only resorts that have poolside "waitress" service is the S/D resorts!
Very nice touch!
Disney could take a couple of lessons from S/D on food service as their food and cocktails are the best on property!

Same goes for their room service!

We have ordered at the pool bar, and they will bring food to you, sort of like room service.
They just don't have "waitresses" going around asking if you need anything.

you'll have a wonderful time anyways!
The AKL is very nice and relaxing!
And the hot tubs are great!
