Has anyone had the "Jaq" lunch buffet?

I am currently trying to select my items for my tasting and I was interested in this lunch but wondered if anyone has tried these items either at their tasting or chosen for their reception.

Also, I did not see any plated lunch options in the menu packet sent by my planner. Do they just go with the dinner prices/portions? Or can they create a menu for you in your budget. I want to stay as close to the $100 per person as possible.

Thanks for your help!

Hi, I don't know anything about the Jaq buffet, but I created a lunch buffet by choosing items that I liked. I went simple and went with a chick parm, two types of pasta, salad bar, meat carving station, potatoes, pasta salad, assorted desserts and of course, cake. I can;t remember specifics, but I think it was reasonable, as far as Disney is concerned, but what kills you are the cost of drinks ;)

We're doing a modified Tinker Bell brunch buffet for less than the original price of the buffet. I don't think we tried anything off of the "Jaq" menu, but we did select items from other menus to try. In the end, we did go with the custom menu (as described below) at the price of $65/person (the original Tinker Bell is $75/person).

My suggestion is to look at all the menus and pick the items that you like from any menu. Doing this saved us money and got us the food that we would really enjoy. Also, don't just take the number that they come back at you with for the price, if you modify your menu. They originally priced us at $75/person but then when we pointed out that we are taking out the Egg Station (which requires a chef to be present to cook and serve), the salmon spread, and the Macerated Berry Shot, they worked with us to lower the price. We only have 26 guests, so we didn't need that much food.

Our reception is at 11:30am, so we decided to do the brunch route.

Pre-reception:
- Croissants, Danish, Brioche, Cinnamon Buns
- Array of Fruits, Berries and Honey Yogurt Dip

Reception:
- Maple Glazed Pork Sausage Links
- Quiche Lorraine (instead of an egg station)
- Penne Pasta with Artichoke Cream and Julienne Vegetables
- Mickey Waffle Station
- Quick- fried Red Snapper with Passion Fruit Beurre Blanc
- Cheese Blintzes with Blueberry Compote

At our tasting we tasted:

- Quick- fried Red Snapper with Passion Fruit Beurre Blanc
Review: TO DIE FOR GOOD! This was some of the best fish I have ever had!
- Quiche Lorraine
Review: Very yummy, but your basic Quiche Lorraine
- Cheddar Cheese Shredded Potato Gratin
Review: I could just have this on the buffet and be totally happy. The most surprising, on of the best tasting side dish I have ever had in my life.
- Penne Pasta with Artichoke Cream and Julienne Vegetables
Review: Very lovely, but very rich.
- Oven-roasted Yukon Gold Potatoes with Braised Fennel and Parmesan Cheese
Review: Very well done, but I'm not a huge Fennel fan.
- Chocolate Crêpes with Cream Cheese and Fresh Berries
Review: Crepes were very dry and disappointing
- Cheese Blintzes with Blueberry Compote
Review: Delicious
- Shredded Beer Braised Flank Steak with Garlic and Fresh Tomatoes
Review: Melt in your mouth good.

We also built our own lunch menu from the menus DFTWs gave us. We had the parmesean crusted chicken, a pasta action station with two types of pastas and sauces, a beef carving station, cheddar cheese soup, salad, mashed potatoes, and mickey premium bars to be served with the cake. This was $67pp.

We had a brunch, so we modified the Tinkerbell menu (which is not Jaq, but I will share our thoughts on the lunch items)

The chicken was prepared on a per-order basis only, so a lot of people didn't even know it was there and didn't eat it. I am pretty much vegetarian (just for the reason that I don't like most meat) so I didn't try any, but I would keep this in mind if you do have this chicken on your menu.

We had a pasta primavera as well, and it was to die for. I thought that it was so delicious, the sauce was nice and creamy, and the veggies were fresh and delicious.

We also had eggs made to order, Mickey waffles, yogurt parfaits, lots of pastries and tarts, bacon and sausage, fruit… lots and lots of food. And it was all delicious!

Thank you all so much. this give me more confidence to not just take everything as is! It all sounds so yummy!

Mine is dinner not lunch. Custom buffet $75/pp

-Build your own BLT salad from Cinderella's Royal Table
-Basmati rice with toasted almonds
-Seasonal vegetable medley
-Tomato and cucumber salad with yogurt dressing (an arab dish I asked them to make)
-Parmesean crusted chicken breast with lemon dill creme sauce on side (at tasting session came with mushroom sauce that I didn't like, so asked about other sauces)
-Pesto gnocchi from Le Cellier
-Mini lamb lollichop with watermelon slaw and mint pesto
- Vegetable samosa with yogurt sauce
- Assorted rolls with butter
- Coffee and assorted hot teas

I was scared to get the pricing back, but was very pleased with $75pp for all that food. For dinner I have to meet a $125pp minimum and I know people won't drink anywhere near what was estimated, so I decided to add a mashed potato bar for an additional $10pp to make sure I don't lose any money.
Mashed Potato Martini Bar includes: Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, & Truffle Mac & Cheese with Cream Cheese, Chives, Crisp Prosciutto, & Aged Cheddar Cheese.
