Would you consider it feasible to head to lunch at Sanaa while touring the AK, and then to head back to AK after we're done?
Or will hoofing it back to the entrance, driving or taking a bus to AKV, and then getting back into the park, just take up too much of a chunk of the limited hours that AK is open?

I would only do it if you get a very early start at AK. By the time you wait for buses and walk to and from the entrance of AK I would guess you are taking away at least an hour from your time at the park, not counting how long it will take you to eat.

On the plus side, we really enjoy lunch at Saana. The food and service was great and it wasn't very busy so we got a window table with a good view of the animals.

You can do it, we did. But it takes a big chunk out of your day at AK.

I really like Sanaa, but you have to consider if it's worth at least two hours of park time to eat there. Could you maybe go for dinner instead?

we are doing this! We will go to EMH at AK and then head to a late 1p lunch. We pretty much see/do all we want to see at AK in half a day.

I second the suggestion that dinner is a better option.

But, if lunch is the only time you can go, it's worth it.
If you go for park opening and plan to stay until closing, you can get most everything done and still have lunch at Sanaa. It just takes a while to get there and back since you have to wait on buses.

The food is EXCELLENT though.

i wouldn't waste the time in the middle of the day, i'd go for dinner (AK closes very early).

during the day, i would eat lunch at Yak & Yeti - we really enjoyed our lunch there!!

What time of year are you going? I think if it was a lower attendance time it is easily 'doable." We can get most of our "must does' done by lunch. We rarely can keep ourselves busy enough to stay from rope drop to the parade. (Which I happen to really, really, really like!) Sometimes a break from the parks is nice. We frequently leave MK for lunch at a resort, so why not at AK?
