Lunch at Animal Kingdom

I was wondering which counter-service restaurant in Animal Kingdom is your favorite for lunch.

I have heard good things about both Tusker House and Flame Tree BBQ. However, I would like more details about the reasons that you prefer one over the other.

Counter service food is counter service food to me - nothing special. What I like about Flame Tree is the seating area behind the restaurant next to the river. Very peaceful, lots of trees. It's a nice, quiet place to get away from the action for a little while. Although, if it was a really hot, humid day, I'm sure I'd rather go somewhere inside with air-conditioning, but if it's not too hot, the area behind Flame Tree is very peaceful.

My vote is for Tusker house. I like the rotissere chicken and mashed potatoes.

I didn't vote because I like all the options for different things. Tusker House if it is hot or I want roasted chicken. Flame Tree if it is nice or I want barbecue. Pizzafari if it is hot or I want a good Ceasar Salad.

We enjoyed the food at Flame Tree, we got the AK lunch Vohcher. Add onion Rings. It was peaceful to sit down by the water. We have also done Rainforest at AK, we will save Rainforest for DTD. we realy enjoyed Flame tree.

This is why I voted for Flame Tree BBQ. I also love the food.

I did not vote because we really like both Tusker House and Flame Tree. Tusker House might get a llittle edge with better food, but I love sitting down by the water at Flame Tree, and I think their barbeque is good. I would eat at the one I was closest to when I got hungry.

I didn't vote because I have not eaten lunch at any of these places. We will eat at one on our upcoming trip. It just depends on where we are in the park. I am not going to hike all the way back to Tusker House if I am in Dinoland! LOL!

I wanted to comment on the great timing of this poll!!! I was just scanning for reviews so I could choose between Tusker and Flame :cool:

We ate at Tusker house last year and loved it, but the UG also recommends Flametree, so in January we will be doing Flametree

Well, I voted for Tusker, since I loved their corn chowder, but I too love that seating area down by Flame tree...

TECHNICALLY-My favorite food is from Chakrandi Chicken Shop, which I had wanted to try for a while and finally convinced my grandparents to try with me. Granddaddy and I both liked the chicken stir fry, and grandmother really liked the pot stickers (she'd never had them before) but they're a small lunch if you're hungry-might need to add a little something extra to it if that's what you want. YUM YUM-wish I could get something that good here in this tiny little town (none of the towns listed to the left)

My family loves Tusker House, IMHO it is the best counter service restraunt at WDW. They have some traditional food, and also some choices that are at least a little bit unusual (veggie wrap, turkey wrap, bread bowl salad). It's a nice, cool place to relax for lunch, and we always eat there when at WDW.
