Anyone have any opinions on either the Lumix FZ60 16 megapixel digital or the Lumix FZ47 12.1 megapixel digital camera

Both are within my budget (the FZ60 is $299 and the FZ47 is $342)

We've had Lumix cameras before and we really liked them but if I'm spending $300+ I want to make sure these are good cameras.

I'm not sure what to think of those. The FZ60 is supposed to be the budget version of the (very, very good) FZ200, but it has a different sensor and lens (than the magical one in the FZ200)..and Panasonic does not have a great reputation with higher MP sensors, so their high-end cameras dropped from a noisy 14mp sensor in 2011 down to 12mp in 2012.
And the FZ47 is last years version of the FZ60, but commands a higher price?

In that price range, I would rather have a Canon SX40, which was their top tier bridge camera before they released the SX50 this month.

I looked at the canon SX40 but it is out of stock on the cannon website...I don't know if I'd be able to find it anywhere else.

Are there any other cannons you would recommend under $400?

It still looks like most stores have the Canon SX40 in stock, B&H, BestBuy, Office Max, Office Depot, Target...

Thanks. The only place it is available in stores here is at a staples store nearby ( and a best buy store but I refuse to shop there) so I am going to go check it out tomorrow.
