Lulu201's Back In Action Journal

Oh I loved the Lion King. We got to see it in London last summer and my mother loved it also (and she is not the Disney fan I am) It is wonderful. I am jealous have a great time.

Hi, Desiree! Hi, Carol! Hi, Amanda! (I didn't know you were still here! :D ) It was nice of you to drop by this morning! You're making me excited for our little trip now! Tomorrow at this time, I'll be on my way to the train! :flower:

Hi Erin,

You'll LOVE the Lion King, I have heard soooo many great things about it from friends. I'm jealous!!!!!!! Have a great trip!

Sundie

Hi Erin,

Here I was just popping in to see how you were feeling. It sounds like you have a wonderful husband. This is exactly what you needed this weekend. WTG DH! You are going to have a fantastic time at Lion King! Katie still pulls out the programme and talks about it.

Just know that I am thinking about you this weekend.
Take care and have a great time,
Beth

Today's a Lion King Day! January 8, 2005

It's a grey, messy, kind of icy day here in the Northeast, but I'm feeling sunny and ready to take on a new adventure like our trip to NYC. I'm glad we're not driving the whole way; the roads aren't the best.

Thanks, Sundie and Beth for stopping over. Beth, you're right, DH is a good guy. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. That means a lot to me always, but especially this weekend. I'm thinking of you, too. I wish we were there, don't you? Maybe, Beth, we'll all be there together one day. Wouldn't that be great?

So, here's the plan. I have to admit I'm a little nervous about going away and trying to stay on plan this early in the SB game, but I know I want to try my best to stay on track.

1. Devotions: "God has a vision of our success." Boy, I needed that thought today! 8/31 :D
2. Vitamins: 8/31 :D
3. Water: 2 glasses down
4. Exercise: hopping on the treadie for two miles as soon as I'm done here.
5. Food: yogurt w/almonds and coffee. Will tuck some whole almonds, pistacchios, and a cheesestick or two in my suitcase. As far as meals go, I'm thinking salads will be the way to go.
6. Scale:  holding steady 8/31 :D
I have to admit I'd like to see some steady downward movement, but I know that this is about more than the number on the scale. I FEEL so much better since starting this on Monday. Whenever my blood sugars are under control like this I wonder why I allow myself to eat foods that wreak havoc with my system and create all kinds of cravings and out of control eating! I'm going to try to have a more medical, clinical mindset about my eating. . .white flours and sugars are not right for me. Period. End of story. Avoid them for life. Gulp. . . OK, just for today. . .

Well, I've got to wake everyone up and get them moving toward the Big Apple. I think my walking music will do the trick! :earboy2:

I'll log on tomorrow night. :grouphug: Bye, friends!

Living a healthy life day by day,
Moving onward, looking Upward--
Erin

Today's January 10, 2005, and I'm officially back in action after being off program Saturday afternoon and Sunday while in New York. We had a great time and "The Lion King" was wonderful. Now it's back to real life. . .

1. Devotions: Missed yesterday, read today's. 9/31 :D
2. Vitamins: Missed yesterday, haven't had today's yet, holding at 8/31
3. Water: Have had a few glasses. Didn't drink enough on Sat. Holding at 8/31
4. Exercise: Didn't exercise yesterday, won't today either. Holding at 8/31
5. Food: Off program from Saturday's lunch at Planet Hollywood until this morning. Holding at 7/31
6. Scale: Got on last night and this morning. 10/31 :D

Well, while off program, I had french fries and ice cream. Last night I felt sick and still do today. I'm detoxing from all the white sugar and flour. :crazy2: is how I feel.

I'm happy to be back on the wagon.
Erin

Hi Erin,

I'm glad that you had a good time at Lion King. I hope you are starting to feel better away from the flour/sugar. look at this weekend as reinforcement that SB is right for you. On SB, you feel good, off you feel horrible. This detour just help cement the program for you.

Have a great afternoon,
Beth

Hi WISH-sis!!!

I'm so glad you enjoyed your trip! The Lion King sounds wonderful and I'm glad you got to enjoy the Big Apple with DH & DD for a couple days.

I missed you and will admit to shedding some tears on my way through the castle. I've got a medal we can both share! While at the Health & Fitness Expo, I picked up a brochure for .... are you ready? .... the Philadelphia Half Marathon!! It's in mid-September and only $40 to register........think about it! MeMe said she might be interested in doing it too!

Now, it's back to business! Glad you're detoxing from your weekend splurge. I'm doing the same thing. We'll get healthy together and motivate each other through the National Body Challenge!!

Hi Erin! I'm glad you had such a good time in New York and were able to see The Lion King! I hope to see it someday, it looks like such a great show! ::yes::

I hope you had a great day getting back with the program. Hope you get over the sugar/carb ickies soon!

Good morning! It's Tuesday, January 11, 2005

I'm still feeling icky. I think I'm lost somewhere in a hormonal/carb purgatory. TOM is late. . .just feel yucky. Oh well, onward, right?

1. Devotions 10/31 :D
2. Vitamins 10/31 :D
3. Water--as of yesterday, 9/31
4. Exercise--gave up my exercise time to get some Christmas stuff away. I know, I know, it's probably not the best decision, but the chaos in the house is driving me crazy. Holding at 8/31
5. Food--yesterday started OK, but ended bad. I avoided sugar, but had more carbs than I should've. 7/31
6. Scale 11/31 :D

I'm under the gun with lots to do at work and at home and am feeling the pressure--probably more so because of my yukkiness. I'm just going to do what I can do. . .won't get to many journals today. Thanks for stopping by friends.

Philly Half? Hmmm, I'll be thinking about that one. . .

E.

 Erin,

I hope you are feeling better tonight. I am sure that you will get things under control soon. I'm sending :wizard: your way.
Take care,
Beth

I do hope you're feeling better this evening. I know the day was long, but I'm hoping it had some bright spots. Do your best to get through the DZone - it will be gone soon. ::yes::

Here's some extra :sunny: to brighten your day!

Hi Erin,

I'm sorry that you have not been feeling well. I hope that you feel better soon! Take good care of you!

Oh Erin, I am sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. Here is a  and some :wizard: to help you feel better!

January 13, 2005

:grouphug: Thanks, you guys, for stopping by and offering all the "cheer ups."
I appreciate it so much. Aunt Flo arrived yesterday and brought with her lots of baggage, but I'm holding on to my ibuprofen with one hand and your kindness with the other. She'll be outa here before I know it. . .

LONG day today. I'll spare you the details, but I only have a second here to post, and I know I won't make it around to journals. Tomorrow, though.

1. Devotions. Missed again yesterday. Managed it this morning. 11/31 :D
2. Vitamins (11/31 until I take them)
3. Water (yesterday was 10/31)
4. Exercise--no plans for today. Holding at 8/31. Tomorrow for sure.
5. Food--holding at 7/31. High hopes for today
6. Scale--13/31 :D

I hope everyone has a good day. See ya tomorrow. . .
E.

Oh man, I hate Aunt Flo! Here are some special friends to help you through the day, Erin!

If they don't help, just let me know!

I know things are busy for you right now, but I'm hoping you've got some time tucked away over the next couple days to relax! ::yes::

You know you're in my thoughts and prayers daily, WISH-sis!
