Hi,
Sorry if this has been asked before..............Do you have to leave your luggage out the last night? We are taking a cruise this September without our kids, and think it would be easier to just get off the ship without having to pack up the night before.:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Yes, you do have to have your luggage out before 11:00 p.m. We didn't have a problem with it. We just kept out what we needed for the morning, and then threw our p.j's and other amenities in the luggage when we got to the airport.

You can carry it off yourself if you want to, it is an option.

just got off the Wonder this morning. I was sooooo impressed by the way Disney handles luggage. We packed our luggage and left it outside our doors around 9 last evening, leaving out clean clothes and little bit of toiletries. Disney color codes your luggage with tags. We had breakfast at 6:45 and walked directly off the ship just after breakfast around 7:30. We strolled leisurely through the terminal and through customs.

Downstairs in the terminal, the luggage is lined up, and color coded. There are numerous colors, so the line up of luggage is relatively small. I spotted our luggage right away. Porters are right there in the terminal and politely approached us to see if we needed help. We were traveling with our 4 year old and a stroller, so we were happy to have porter assistance. The porters can help you all the way out to your transportation, in our case our brother in law's car in the parking lot. We were in our car, out of the terminal and on our way in no time at all and it was truly a breeze. I glanced at the clock and remarked to husband and brother in law we were in the car, well on our way to the airport at 7:47.

Happy travels.

Does DCL offer the service where they take your luggage the night before and you don't see your luggage until you arrive at your home airport??? This was a service we took advantage of on another cruise line, it was wonderful not having to worry about getting our own luggage to the airport!! If anyone knows, I would appreciate knowing!

To answer the question; No you do not have to set your luggage out the night before.

I would not recomend lugging it off. It really is very easy to pack it as you use stuff then that last little bit is really isn't that hard. But if you really want to drag it to breakfast and off the ship you are free to do so. I am sure that others can offer you more advise to help make your final decision.

Yes, they do offer this if you have Disney transportation! Absolutely loved it! No hassles at all!

Does that include taking your luggage to WDW if you are going there next?

Land and Sea package yes,

But even without that the DCL coach takes you all the way and the luggage guys can take over at the resort.

On My DCL cruises luggage had to be out at a set time it has varies between 10pm and 12 midnight each cruise.

The Panama crossing one was 10pm due to the high amount of luggage everyone has.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Thanks for all the replies. As we usually travel with 3 kids, and all that luggage (especially with the 2 repositioning cruises we did), I thought it would be just easier to not have to worry about the packing the night before. You know, leaving out toiletries, clothes..... As we'll each only have 1 bag, I'm happy to hear we have this option if we want!!

Always a scramble last night and a juggle to cover everything, there is always the person in their pajamas only in the morning at immigration!:lmao:

If you want the convenience of keeping toiletries, etc. out, why not put out three bags and keep number 4 with you? The morning breakfast is crowded as everyone has at least their carry on in the dining room.

If you have DCL transfers and are on a participating airline you will not need to see your bags again till you are at your home airport. If you are going to WDW after your cruise, you will claim your bags in the terminal and take them to the bus.

I just can't see why you would want to carry all your luggage on that last morning....one case for the family would be much easier!

We have enough time after disembarking the ship and our flight home, we were going to rent a car to get ourselves to the airport (after a stop at the beach, or DTD). Will DCL transport our luggage if we are not using the DCL transfer to the airport?? We may need to rent a bigger car due to transporting our own luggage! Thanks for your help! These boards contain a wealth of information!

In the past DCL had several airline desks right at the port where you could check in your bags for your flight home. We had done this numerous times and had a rental and just got to the airport when it was time for our flight. They have since done away with that and now have a new onboard airline checkin program. You leave your bags out the night before and you don't see them again until your home airport. You must be on one of the participating airlines and must be booked on DCL transport.

So, I think the answer to your question is no, not anymore. You need to take DCL transport back to the airport in order for them to handle your luggage. If this is not the case, I am sure someone will correct me.

We are traveling without kids this time around, so only 2 bags. Not sure if we will eat breakfast or not, as we are meeting my sister who will have our children at Disney in the morning. I kind of like the idea of waking up, throwing the last few things in our bags and then we are done. We have a renta car booked. This is the first time in a lonnnnnnnnnnnng time that we will be without kids, so I guess I don't want to waste it packing and planning the night before!!:goodvibes :goodvibes
