Luggage Transfer

If I want to transfer from one resort to another, isn't there a way that I can have Disney transfer the luggage for me? What is the procedure? I wanted to leave AKL and go to the POP and still go early to Magic Kingdom.

Bell Services will handle the transfer.

I would take the bags down to Bell Services on the way to the bus. They will move the bags to Pop.
BUT....be aware that this isn't a quick process. You probably won't get the bags at Pop until late afternoon/early evening. I've had Disney transfer my bags many times....I have yet to get my bags before 5:30. And I hand them off before 8am!!

I agree with @goofy4tink On our last trip, we transferred bags from POR to WL. We gave bell services our bags around 7:30 a.m. and they did not arrive to WL til after 4. I can't completely remember, but I feel like POR told us that they would get to WL around 1 when they make their rounds to deliver bags, but WL must of been last on their list lol. Thankfully, we really didn't need our luggage, so it wasn't a huge deal. Just keep calling down to bell services when you are at POP and ask for them.

Yes, this is absolutely correct. It can take FOREVERRRRRR. If you dont mind waiting, then by all means go for it. But i'd much rather take my luggage and hop in a cab.

We always take a cab with bags so we know they are there. Last two times we left one hotel about 10, took a cab to next one and got our room right away. Had bags unpacked and at pool before 11.

Anyone taken a cab from POR to WL lately? If yes, how did you go about choosing which company, who did you choose, and how much did it run?

Luggage transfers need to be dropped of by 1PM and usually arrive at the new resort between 3 & 4, one trip per day.

You've been lucky! I've used Disney to transfer my bags at least 10 times. Not once have they been at the next resort before 4:30-5. Not once. There was one time, at POR, when their Luggage Assistence CM actually called BC (that's where I had moved from, at 8am). They were told, at 4:00, that they had been very busy that day and hadn't had a chance to transfer bags. Still no bags at 5! Called again at 5:30....said they would be right over. Finally got my bags around 6-6:30. The Luggage Assistence CM refused my tip....sad he refused to take a tip for such awful service.

Haven't taken a cab from POR to WL, but have done AKL to YC and ASMo to CSR. We just went down to the lobby entrance and valets either called a cab or flagged one for us (there are usually some waiting at the resorts). I believe they were Mears cabs. It cost less than $10-15 if I remember correctly. It was easy and quick. If room isn't ready, just leave bags with Bell Services to be moved once you have your room.
