Luggage transfer to SOG from Disney resort

Just as an FYI....we stayed at POR for 4 nights and then transferred to SOG for two nights. We hadn't figured out how to transfer our luggage, there were two other families staying with us doing the same. I asked at the Coincerge desk the best way to transfer our luggage and they said they would do it!!!
I was so surprised, I said are you sure and they said yes....I had asked on this board and was told they wouldn't do it and even called Disney and they said they wouldn't, but they did!!!!
Actually, they moved all three families luggage to SOG!!!
Great service and so happy they did it, glad I asked!!!!
So, if you are doing the same it doesn't hurt to ask, not sure if they all do or just happened that POR would???

I am so glad that they were able to do that for you. The policy is no, they will not transfer from a Disney resort to a non Disney resort... However I have never seen them actually say no when it comes right down to it. It is kind of like it gives them the ability to say no if they have a lot of disney to disney transfers, but 99% of the time they will take them to SOG or the Swan/ Dolphin. You figure they do all the transfers at the same time, chances are they are going to go right past there so why not help you out.

Anyway, glad to hear that they were able to spread the magic for you and as you say with most things Disney it is best to ask directly at the source. The call center might tell you no because the written policy is no and that is what they are looking up, but the actual CM that would be doing it will say yes because it is not impacting their operation so they can help out!

I was wondering how to handle the luggage situation as well. In our case we would be moving from SOG to OKW...so I think we will be out of luck as far as bell services on SOG's end.

It never hurts to ask. I don't know about SOG, but Swan/Dolphin transfers luggage to Disney hotels, SOG might too. If you don't ask you won't know, the worst they can say is no.
