How do you make your luggage tags and make your luggage stand out??? We usually tie bright ribbons on our luggage, but does anyone have any other ideas? And what about luggage tags? Does anyone have any pictures? I have mickey paint chips, but I don't know how to put them on tags. Is there a way to peel them off of the paper or should I just cut around the mickey head? Also, do you laminate them??? Thanks!

I've done everything from colored Cloth tape on the handles.

2 different colored ribbons (someone might have the same 1 but 2 less chance)

Now I have a luggage tag from when I was Playing Paintball (had 12 at 1 point) They really stand out .Then I have my Disney one connected to a zipperpull and tucked into a pocket.

Polka Dotted Cloth tape to id the bag. Then I use a big tag in a neon yellow. Of course the Polka Dots are eaiser to spot than the luggage tag! :Pinkbounc

great ideas! Thanks! Does anyone have a picture of a mickey paint chip luggage tag???

If you're at Home Depot, take a look in the home decorating/paint area for the foam Mickey head and hand-shaped stamps. I covered these with acrylic paint from Michael's and stamped my luggage...black luggage with white Mickey glove stamps.....

or, you could punch a hole in the foam stamp figures and use them as luggage tags...

Why is it so important to make my bag stand out? I will have the Disney luggage tags, is that not enough?

I just bought nice new Samsonite 360 spinning luggage that I will be defiling with neon duct tape because my beautiful new luggage is...black, of course. Michaels stores even have neon green to match my mickey paint chip heads. I will have no problem spotting my luggage on the conveyor belt from a mile away. It will be NEON! If your Home Depot doesn't have the green mickey heads, the Behr squares have a limeaid color that is close. I just bought a different mickey head color, cut it out and used it as a template to cut heads out of the Behr chips. I'll stick our info on it and laminate them at Kinkos. This way I'll hve custom luggage tags and easily identifiable luggage.

I once had a flight attendant look at my duct taped (neon orange and yellow)luggage and ask me if I was in the Coast Guard! :rotfl: My bags with big neon X on them could be a military target I suppose.

Luggage that stands out especially comes in handy for cruises...some lines dump the luggage for all 2000 pax at the end of the cruise and you get to do the great luggage hunt trying to find your bags in the sea of a few thousand other black bags. Ok, there's allegedly some system about it, but not really. Neon duct tape is your best friend when you see this sight!

And by the way, the duct tape stays on for a prettty long time, but I like knowing I can remove it if I want. I really don't want to paint my new luggage.

I just told a friend of mine to take her Alien Green paint chips ;) and turn those into luggage tags! You can put your info in the middle of Mickey's head and laminate them. Punch a hole and tie it with lime green ribbon!

Who knows, there might be other DISers on your flight!

If you put the paint chips in the microwave for 15 seconds, they will peel off the backing so you can laminate them to make your own personalized luggage tags. I did this in November '05 and it worked out perfectly.

get a stencil and some spray paint and spray both sides of your luggage,, all our luggage for the family have yellow fish stencils on black luggage,,, very easy to see coming down the belt

I had some card stock scraps that came in a One Pound Scrap Pack. I just pulled assorted pieces out of the package a few days ago, in various colors and sizes, and wondered what I could do with them. Tonight I had an idea for the lime green 2" x 4.5" pieces of paper.

I had printed clear address labels (could be white or any color) with our name, cell phone number, resort and dates of our trip to add to our belongings that required ID. I placed one on each of the four cards (one for each piece of luggage), then I added a character sticker that came with the Disney Movie Club packet to the same side and noted the luggage size (i.e. 21" c/o, 29" vert). On the other side of each tag I listed the contents of the suitcase. The contents list will ensure I have everything packed and help me find what I'm looking for at the resort when we unpack, plus it will help me repack for the return trip.

I bought laminating sheets at Walmart and need to get ribbon or something to tie them to the bags so they stand out on our new black luggage that I won't recognize among the sea of black suitcases at the airport.

I happened to be at Home Depot on the weekend and I picked up a bunch of alien gree mickey head paint chips. I had just finished reading this thread and felt that I should get the paint chips since I was there.

Only problem, I don't know what to do with them now. Do I cut out the heads, where and what do I write on them, where on the luggage do I put them. I read that I could poke a hole in top and use a ribbon.

Is this really all necessary, are the Disney luggage tags not enough?

We are using Magical Express and they will be getting our luggage for us, are these neon green tags still necessary?

Please help, I am very confused.
:yay:

It would be for your own benefit since there are a lot of luggage that look the same or very similar. It helps us when we have some sort of multi-colored pom pom on it. Easier to spot on the airport carousel.

That is a great idea!!!! Thanks!!!!

Thank you all for such great ideas! Keep 'em coming!!!

i glued two mickey head paint chips togetter and used a hole puncher to make a hole. Then i tied them up to my luggage.... i have a big blue duffle and its hard to mistake.

I found some really neat Bookmarks at NestleSignatures.com. You can pick which picture and you can personalize it. I personalized mine w/ our name, address & phone number. I cut them out, laminate, punch a hole in the top and tie onto luggage w/two colors of yarn / ribbon.

I used this last year when we went to San Diego. We spotted our luggage right away. It sure helped a lot when everyone's luggage all looks alike.

next time i buy luggage its going to be hot pink.... well.... maybe a nice purple :artist:

Cute idea! Just a tip regarding putting an address on luggage, use your business address. You just never know who you're tipping off that you are not home!

ITA. I use my work address and phone #. I also use initials and last name. I'm too paranoid about strangers. It's not that I don't trust them, I just don't have time to watch them all.

I've been told that all the airlines need are a last name and a city with that and the trace tags they can figure out who's luggage it is. Thus that's all that is on my outer luggage tag!
