Luggage Service Return - Value Resorts only (currently)

I heard about this today and it would be amazing if DVC got this back for our trip this summer. Its only outbound right now as you leave and its only on Southwest but its a start.

If Disney could return the from airport and to the airport baggage service it would be a huge win for a vacation and take out a headache of waiting for your bags and needing to show up earlier to check your bags. It would also solve the headache of dealing with bag check at the resort on your departing day if you wanted to do anything.

Love that Epic Universe is opening. Getting discounts, getting services returning, getting park improvements, Disney is hopefully waking up.

If only they would bring back resort package delivery! I'd even be happy to pick things up at the front of the park! I love to shop but hate carrying stuff around and on principle I won't rent a locker to store my purchases (and I don't want to go back and forth to a locker all day)! So I don't buy nearly as much. Universal does it...

This pilot service of resort airline check in for only Southwest at Values has been running for well over a month. Maybe it expands, maybe it flops. Too soon to tell (and kinda sad that there has been no expansions beyond the expansion from Pop to all Values that happened a few days after launch)

TBH I would love for it to return both ways for all MCO flights and all resorts. One way is a help but doesn't really change the math for us. Back in the days of the Magical Express and luggage transfers, we could either rent any car at the airport or even wait until we get to the resort to pick-up a car at either the Car Care Center or the Swan & Dolphin. As it stands now, we have to rent a mini-van for us and our luggage. If we didn't have to transfer the luggage we could return to renting any type of car and not paying up for a mini-van.

I have resd reports and have been told by guests who used it, for the most part, it has been fine.

No info shared though if it will be expanded to other resorts or airlines.

You likely want to go to the normal resort boards or possibly the specific threads for the resorts this is at.

I just saw a vlogger talk about it again and it sounds like its going good. I haven't followed it closely as it will have zero impact on us until they finally roll it out to Deluxe resorts.

You did remind me though that I want to bring this up with DVC people I see around WDW on our trip saying how it would be a great benefit to have back.

I am also DVC and a SW companion pass holder and am hoping for that magical express return. It sounds promising thus far and I'm hopeful they will continue to expand. We miss this stress free arrival and departure benefit we once had.

Where did you read that it was promising DME was coming back? Most people think it's highly unlikely. I can see the luggage option expanding, but not DME - especially if the luggage drop off does move to more resorts. You never know, but I do not think DME is coming back any time soon.
