1. Does any one know the # of bags that can be taken by each person on the cruise ship. We are not flying so just the cruise ship.

2. Has any one ever, had lost luggage, if you brought your own luggage to the port, and checked it in, have you ever had any not arrive to your room??

I believe they give you 2 tags per person but if you need more you can get them from the porters when you drop off your luggage.

We've never had a problem with luggage not making it to our room. The problems I've heard about are after the cruise when someone walks away with someone else's bag by mistake.

There isn't a limit to the number of bags you can check. They'll give you extra tags.

We had one bag go "missing" when we went to Mexico on DCL. It was initially sent to the wrong stateroom but we got it back. The bag was not well marked which is I am sure why it went missing.

We had plenty of people who had the airlines loose their luggage but I did not meet anyone where the port lost their luggae. That said they are extremely rough with the bags. They also screen and search the luggage.

Could anyone clarify if there is any kind of limitation of how many bags you can have ? My DW swears that she heard only two per person somewhere, but I am not able to find that info. Is this a Airline thing or ?.....

Thanks in advance...

Most airlines only lets you check in 2 suitcases after that you have to pay for your bags to check in...you can also take a travel size suitcase on the plane. I've never heard of them limiting suitcases on a cruise. Hope this helps

When we boarded the Magic in March, 2006 there were seven of us and we gave at the least 3 bags each to the porters without any problem.

SWAY airlines is one of the few airlines that allow 3 checked bags under 50 lbs. each.

I think the only limitation is the amount of room to store the luggage in your cabin. DCL requests that all your luggage be stored in your stateroom.

The brochure says:

Each guest may bring aboard the ship a reasonable amount of clothing and personal effects without charge, not to exceed two bags per person.

Consider shipping some stuff ahead along with a duffel bag to carry it home. Since they want you to buy so much stuff on-board, they don't limit how many bags you can carry off.

No i trust the mail, less than i trust the porters getting my luggage to the room!
I would be heart broke if it ended up not being there.

We always ship our pirate costumes to the ship and they've never gone missing. We'd miss more than the costumes ($$) if they did!

We prefer UPS Ground, but other posters are happy with FedEx. I wouldn't advise using the USPS; they're 'tracking' number is only good once the package has been delivered. I like to follow the package as it travels towards the warehouse. There's a sticky at the top of the forum with shipping info necessary.

Does shipping ahead involve fees other than Fedex fees- from the warehouse or Disney?

It's not a Disney warehouse, but there are no fees involved other than the UPS/FedEx/DHL shipping costs.
