We have booked Premium Economy on our return flight - so we can only take 1 suitcase when flying out, but bring 2 home.

My question is - can we put 1 suitcase inside the other one on the way out? Has anyone ever done this? Thanks :goodvibes

Hi

We have done this many times even when you were allowed to take two cases in economy as it was easier lugging one case around on the outbound

That's good to know - I didn't know if we would get any strange questions with security or anything :)

I've never not done this :rotfl2:

Security doesnt care how you choose to pack your luggage. They have seen pretty much everything, I'm sure and they are only interested in anything that may be a threat to security. Enjoy your shopping! ;)

I always pack a big hold all in my case to fill on way back. Can I ask who your flying with to be allowed 2 cases on way back or you just paying extra costs?

You are allowed two cases with VA in PE

Thanks we are just economy on virgin though there is 5 of us and we aren't taking 5 cases to many with kids being young

We packed extra holdalls on this trip as we have a huge allowance of 3x 23kg each with BA Business! There's no way we're taking 9 bags back with us though......:rotfl2:

I don't think you could carry 9!!!

I would question that.

Last time in Charles de Gaulle (back in February) we were checking in next to an ANA counter, and I could swear that Japanese travellers pack all of their belongings when they take the plane.

Each passenger had an airport cart loaded with too many suitcases to count. My wife and I smiled at each other when we saw that short woman would could barely see where she was going behind her stack of suitcases she was painfully rolling about the terminal 1 check in area.

Could you carry 9 suitcases ? President Obama probably would answer "yes, you can" :)

With BA you get the most generous allowance on the ticket even if you are only flying in the higher class on one leg, therefore, you would get the two case allowance in both directions :thumbsup2 Might be worth calling Virgin to see if they do the same? :confused3

That's why they have the luggage carts .... and the guys to help out for a moderate gratuity. The trouble starts when you get back to the UK with all that :lmao:

2009 DD and I came back with 6 plus hand luggage. She was only just 7 and I was struggling at the carousel when this wonderful guy came and helped me and then expressed his disgust that the 'rest of your party just leaves you to do this alone ..." I didn't have the gall to tell him it was all mine :lmao:

Just the thought of having to get them in the car, back out, into the hotel etc etc puts me off!! Shame on you for not telling that generous man how you needed 6 suitcases just for you 2 :rotfl:

We use Magical Express ;)

I only took 4 with us. We bought so much darn stuff at the Premium Mall that I couldn't carry it out to the taxi and the bemused staff at the Character Outlet kept my purchases while I ran over to the Samsonite store for luggage :rotfl:

Slightly OT, but i'm guessing this a good place to ask where the best shops are?! Lol we have been to Premium Outlet Mall, but thats it ;) ;)

Have you been to both of the Premium Outlets, the I-drive one and the Vineland Road one? The I-drive one is HUGE! Apart from them the other places we go are The Florida Mall and the Mall of Millenia. :)

Depends what you want to shop for - but we generally go to Florida Mall, Mall of Millenia, Best Buy (electrical), Super Target & Walmart just for general things and food supplies, toiletries etc :)

I think it was the I drive one, as we didnt venture too far off the main roads. I would like to go to a big Wallmart or Target, we only went to a small wallgreens last trip, any tips on which are best? :)

There is a Walmart on the 535 - come out of DTD and take a right - this is the 535 and it is about 10 or 15 minutes down the road.

We go to the Super Target on the 192 (West) although if I remember there is also one not too far from the intersection with the 192 (if you go to the Walmart on the 535) on the left. I could be wrong but you could google it :)

Thanks, i'll have a look, see which is easier, lol :thumbsup2
