How many hours do you think it will take for luggage services to move our luggage from BC to BLT? We are trying to plan our day and I don't mind if we can't get into our room at BLT but we would like access to at least one bag with our swimsuits, any thoughts? TIA

If there's something you need, take it with you. We usually leave our luggage very early - 7 AM - and don't see it again until we check-in late in the afternoon. They really deliver it at their convenience, not many times a day. So I wouldn't count on having it until later afternoon.

I would take what you think you will need during the day. When they moved our luggage a few weeks ago from OKW to SSR, they stated they wouldn't actually be moving the luggage till 2 or 3pm and we dropped it off by 8am.

Thanks. I think we will just take what we need and put it in a locker, so we don't have to drag it around all day.

They only transfer luggage once per day and as other have said, it won't be available at the new resort until after 3pm or later.

Oh dear God...don't get me started on BC and moving luggage. We moved from BC over to POR a few years ago. I handed my 2 bags off to Bell Services at 7:45 that morning. I was told our bags should be at POR by 2ish. We went to a park, then headed to POR around 1ish. We could have gotten into a room but they offered us another one if we choose to wait. No big deal, we would wait. We grabbed some lunch, and then wandered around the resort. At about 2:30 we checked to see if our bags had been brought over yet since it was extremely hot/humid and we really wanted to swim. Nope, no bags yet. Okay, fine.
Well we checked back about 4ish, our room was finally ready. We called to see if our bags had been delivered. Nope. Luggage Assistence at POR called over to BC to see if there was a problem. No problem they said, just way too busy to make a luggage transfer run yet!! Are you kidding me???? 8 hrs and still no bags??? Okay....we were told to check in an hour or so, so we went back to our room to relax where it was at least cooler. Called again...nope, no bags and they made another call for us over to BC. The poor POR CMs were getting really annoyed at this point. They were very embarrassed. Well, I got a call at about 6ish telling me that they were bringing our bags over to our room. I told them I would walk over and get them. Oh no, they said, you stay right where you are..you've been inconvenienced enough. When I tried to tip the porter, he just looked at me and said...'there is no way I am taking a tip for such awful service. Have a good evening.'' and off he went.

I routinely hand off my luggage about 7:30ish. And I have never been able to get that luggage until late afternoon...usually no sooner than 5ish. Drives me nuts. I now take a bag with anything I may need for the rest of the day, with me to the parks. It's almost worth it to use a cab to get over to the new resort...at least you know your bags will just be in storage at the resort you are currently at, in case you need something out of the bags.

One time, transferring from OKW to POR, they finally went over from POR to OKW to pick it up around 6:00 because it never got transferred and I'd been calling for it every 1/2 hour since 3:30. The good news is that this is the only time my luggage was even nearly this late. In all the other resort moves (and there've been lots!) my luggage was there around 3:00.

We have learned to take a taxi when transferring from resort to resort and will drop off our luggage at bell services...at least it is already there when the room is ready.
This past week, we had to stay at Pop for the first portion before the transfer to Boardwalk. Taxi, including tip, cost us $8. Very worth it.

We will have a car for our January trip and you just convinced me to move my own luggage.

My upcoming trip in Jan is a split stay between BWV & BLT; I think I will move my own luggage via a cab from BWV to BLT.

Once before we did a split stay from WL to BWV & our luggage didn’t arrive until midnight! :sad2: Needless to say I don’t want to have that experience again which is why I will be moving my own luggage. :thumbsup2

We are splitting resort time with AKV and BLT and can't wait. Now I know what to do the moving luggage. At least I know at BLT it will get moved to the room. Midnight is insane!!
