Luggage in a Convertable?

I see that it shows 2 small suitcases in the description on the rental car website. Does that mean 2 rolling carry-on sizes??? We'll probably have 1 rolling carry-on a medium sized rolling bag, 2 back-packs and an over the shoulder carry-on. The back-packs and shoulder carry-on can go in the car with us, if they don't fit in the trunk.

DH and I rented a convertable (sebring) for a day while we were in California in April, I was surprised how much leg room there appeared to be in the back seat, I never thought to look in the trunk at the trunk room..... :rolleyes1

Is there more trunk room with the top up, or the same either up or down?

We're contemplating surprising the kids and renting a convertable for our August trip...DH, myself, DS (13) and DD (11). It would just be to get us to/from the airport and around Disney (I was amazed at how easy it was to put the top up and down). I really don't want the surprise to be on us, when everything doesn't fit and we're left standing there in the parking garage :confused3

TIA!

Generally if you put the top down it will take 50-95% of the trunk space.

I recall having a Mustang rental a few years ago, and I was able to put my roll on in the trunk. It would have fit two of them, not much more.

In my SKY I can fit my camera bag and a gallon of milk when the top is down. I'm not kidding. Even with the top up I'm not sure even a small suitcase would fit.

Having the top up or down does not affect the amount of trunk space available in a Sebring (didn't with the Mustang convert I owned either :confused3 ). The top doesn't go down into the trunk, so there's no difference.

Also, the trunk on a Sebring is larger than on some other convertibles (the Mustang, for instance).

Usually, we can get several pieces of luggage in our Sebring, including a large suitcase.

I think you'll be able to get all of your luggage in the trunk.
