When our cruise ended, we had to wait about 7 hours until our plane was ready to depart. So we wanted to do something at the Boardwalk resort in WDW. The problem was that we had 10 pieces of luggage and 5 carryon pieces. At the disembarkment talk I learned that the major airlines allowed you to check in your luggage, immediately upon disembarking. They tagged it, loaded it into a truck and we didn't see it again until we arrived in Philadelphia at baggage claim! This was a wonderful convenience.

Also, my parents couldn't check their luggage in so we took it to the Boardwalk and checked it in there. We played miniature golf at Fantasia Gardens, ate at Big Grille and then took a taxi to the airport. This was a really nice ending to a fabulous trip!

Honestly, I have no idea. We stayed at the BW prior to the cruise so I felt that they wouldn't mind if we stored some luggage there. They didn't ask any questions and it worked out extremely well.

Checking the luggage upon disembarking was really great!!!!!

How funny that you posted that just now!

I had just thought of this very same thing yesterday and called to see what to do. I have 12 hours between getting off of the ship and heading off to the airport. I phoned the resort that I'll be staying at the night before my cruise and asked if I could check my luggage while I went shopping that final day even if I wouldn't be staying that night. I was told that as long as the luggage room isn't full that it will be fine. That way my luggage is held and I can have "fun" for the afternoon before heading back to the airport.

Thanks for the tip to others--I was going to post this tip also.

yes if u r a dvc member u have access to the resort ... just like u where stayying there, u may go any time and use pool etc.......

frankly i think if u went to any resort they would do it...

because people get there early all day and store luggage and
then it is brought to room.. they dont know if u r checking in or checking out.. and storing luggage.... peter

I am a DVC member but I didn't know I could do it at the BW. However, checking the luggage off the ship was REALLY CONVENIENT and I hope more of us can take advantage of it!!!
