Lucky Boy strikes again!!

8yo DS is known as the lucky boy because after this past July WDW trip he had the uncanning ability to find the shortest lines. It became a family joke because he never was wrong. When we got home I started letting him find the shortest grocery line and he was still always right. Then at Christmas I bought 3 lottery tickets, I never buy them but gave them as a gag gift to my niece and her boyfriend, and wouldn't you know he picked the winner out for me. So now he is lucky boy.

Well lucky boy had his pinewood derby yesterday and they had a 50/50 drawing. I had DS touch our tickets as they were drawing the ticket and we won! $57 into the disney fund as the kids requested. We have been saving change and small bills (found money) and had our refillable mugs paid for so this will go towards a Pal Mickey.

Hmmm wonder if I can get away with sneaking DS into a casino as a little person...

Well lucky boy had his pinewood derby yesterday and they had a 50/50 drawing.

Shhhhhhhhhhhh dont let your council leaders hear about that!! Scouts are not to have any sort of fundraisers that involves gambling or where the person does not get an approved product for their donation. We had to discontinue 2 of our fundraisers and come up with new approved ones.

I wondered why we had never had a 50/50 drawing before. I never even thought about it that way. I guess I am so used to going to the kids ballgames and having these that it seems common. I won't look a gift horse in the mouth but I'll mention it to our Den leader.

Congratulations to your son! How did he do in the Pinewood Derby? I assume that he is a Wolf or Bear based on his age. As an earlier poster mentioned, you might want to keep the 50-50 "under your hat." Scouts are supposed to provide something of value in return for a donation, which is why gambling/games of chance are generally verboten.

He's a Bear. He didn't have much luck racing this year but he had fun.
