Lucky #13 with pics ~ 9/25 Finished!!!

I've just caught up on your TR! :cool1: I've loved every minute of it. We're leaving for SSR in 4 days and it was great to see a report with lots of pictures and a little report on the restaurant. Thanks for that! Love your shirts. You may have given me enough faith to try and do a report when I return:banana:

I know that this post is a bit OT but I wanted to provide evidence that we do participate in outings at other places than Disney (although not by much!!!!).

Say WHAT?

Looks like a great beach trip before school starts. Well aside from the sharks, anyway.

Ohhhh, I'm touched! :flower3: We are going to miss each other in January, though. We are coming in on Jan. 18 and leaving on Jan. 22. We had planned a week, but the stinkin' school rescheduled jake's exams for that week!! He's got exams on his birthday!!! So we are leaving as early as we can on Friday!!
Maybe you could extend your stay a few days.....;) It's a good excuse, at least.:)

Darn!:sad2: We are going then because of exams,:rolleyes1 . Everyone in the school system gets half days because of High School exams so we are just going to skip those days, and then we get a teacher workday so that is our quicky vacation.

Hate he has to take exams on his b-day though. One day we'll run into each other. :rotfl: I'm getting ready to book another trip in mid June.

Chuck, you sure have a way with storytelling. So hilarious:lmao:

Chuck is a hoot! Lucky all four of us share this odd sense of humor. we do have a good time together.

I have noticed how much you guys make the best of any situation-- by the look on your faces at dinner, you aren't able to tell that the day had some downers in it!!!:cool1:
Wow--shark sightings, more excitin than jellfish for sure! ;)

Hey, it's Disney! Nothing is too bad for too long!! It turned out to be a nice day!
I couldn't believe, sharks!! It's one of those things that seems to only happen to us.

Lynn, I experienced Star Wars weekends about 2 years ago. It was a lot of fun. My favorite thing was the Storm Troopers at the entrance.

I love those guys! They had a lot of new stuff this year. I wish we had taken the camcorder. Jake took that little movie on his camera.

Oh, please do a report! That's what gets me through to the next trip!
We loved the SSR. I could definitely live in that suite!

Half days? Lucky thing, you!!
We are planning to go to Washington, DC next summer instead of Disney.:sad2: At least for now.......

Em plowed through her apple juice and asked for more. When JR came down the steps with her refill, he tripped and apple juice splashed down my back!! Good thing it was a little hot outside. It dried in no time.

:scared1: Wasn't it sticky when it dried?

A leisurely stroll around World Showcase and Illuminations and it’s back to the room to rest for our last day in WDW!!!:guilty:

Already??? It doesn't seem possible!

I forgot to add my part. I went to get popcorn for the parade, come around the corner and see a woman in short shorts and a cut off shirt standing next to Jake, cusring at the top of her lungs about her long neck Bud spewing! Definitely too much of the outside world for me. Not to mention the "Dad" sitting behind me kept rubbing his legs against my back! :scared1: I ended up trading spots with Chuck. I don't know if there was anymore rubbing!!! Yuck!
Naw, that weekend was two weeks before!!

:lmao: :lmao:

For those of you who follow all things Chuck –N- Lynn, even though this has nothing to do with our trip report, I thought I would post a few photos from today’s adventure at the beach.

Every few years, we vacation at Sunset Beach, NC. Is that near you? It's about 30min from Myrtle Beach. We usually drive down once during the week and ride the rides at MB. Last time we were there, we got pulled out of the water because of shark sightings! :scared1:

Denise

YIKES!!!!!:scared1: Sharks! Nothing like hearing that they are 7-8 feet and in the surf when you just shot some pictures in there. I am glad you had a fun day anyways.

The dinner at SSR sounds like a wonderful night and what a view!!! Gorgeous!!

We went down to Folly Beach, which is south of Charleston. Chuck's sister lives in Myrtle Beach. It's about two hours from here.

If you decide to go to DC, let me know! I'm about 30 minutes outside DC, and I'd love to have a mini meet!
Denise

I'd love that! We haven't made any definite plans but when we do, I'll let you know!!

I just wanted to let you know that I'm really enjoying your trip report! :goodvibes

Thanks! I'm so glad you posted!

I'm not crazy about swimming in the ocean to start with, but sharks!!

We really enjoyed the Turf Club. I hope we get to stay at SSR again someday.

Sorry to be off topic but...you live near Charleston??? I was there last fall for 15 weeks working at MUSC!! I  it down there. Charleston is such a neat little city with some really yummy food!

We live about 1 1/2 hours up from Charleston. One of the good things about living in the midlands of SC is that we are no more than 2 hours from the beach or from the mountains, so it works out kind of nice.
Actually, Ms. Lynn and I attended college down in Charleston(its where we met!) and I agree with you, it's a neat city. However, after experiencing Hugo when he rolled through there, we have both decided to distance ourselves from the coast. As starving college students we never really had a chance to try out some of the eats other than what we could scrounge up at our part time jobs (we set up staging and instruments for the Charleston Symphony). There did use to be a ice cream parlor down there called Swensons we would go down and pig out at, but it has long since gone.
We do still like to get down there time to time, and we are planning on trying to get down there for the weekend sometime in nov. or dec. and just walk around the downtown area without the summer crowds or the oppressive heat.

Chuck

All up to date! Emily looked as though she loved StarWars but wow what a lot of people and loved the rant :rotfl2:

Glad Turf club turned out well, I agree 50's is pretty noisy!

Sharks

I'm so glad you are back!! I've got Day twelve finished except for Chuck's comments (cough, cough, are you listening Chuck?) Now that school is back in, it is so hard to get over to the boards!
I hope you had a wonderful time!

I had heard about Hugo when I was down there...glad nothing like that came through when I was there. I also went up to Columbia a couple of times since my good friend is from there and went to a Gamecocks game! Now that was wicked awesome...so different from the Northeast, it made me wish I had gone to school in the south. There is now a really yummy Gelato place right off King Street and I loved going to Sweet Water Cafe for brunch on the weekends...one of those hole in the wall diners. I had my first fried pickles there, YUMMY! I can't believe what they fry in the South, its great and wished I had gotten the chance to try a fried Oreo or Snickers (I am not a Twinkie fan so that does not appeal to me). LOL. November and December was pretty down there esepcially when they had all the Christmas decorations up. I was there from Labor Day Weekend (so just 1 yr ago I was getting ready to head down there) until just before Christmas...it was great except for the days it would rain and the streets would flood. :scared1:

Anyways can't wait to read the next installment...:rolleyes1

If you like odd food, Lynn's mama treated us to a new treat.....pickeled Okra!!!! MMMMmmmm....the only problem is that I have to share with Emily......

As far as day 12...well between kids school, starting a new part time job (got to get the Disney Bucks!!!!!) and a 6" water main blowing in our front yard...I haven't felt very Disneyfied.... but I will get around to it.....I think.
With the heat temps being in the triple digits I know I needed to water the lawn, but I could have done without this....at 2 AM....the morning before school started....
By the way the ground around the tree is supposed to be flat, the water pressure pushed the ground up about 18" -24"...that's alot of pressure...

Can't remember when I last posted...too long ago...I read 3 or 4 pages of posts and they were all wonderful. I must say that you have a very nice family-the kind that I would be glad to see at Disney...

 on the water main! I hope it doesn't get you too undisneyfied cause I wanna hear the rest.

OMG the way the soil is pushed up that must have been a huge amount of pressure!!!!

Oh well, I'll just file that under careful what you wish for. After several days of triple digit temps and no rain, I was sorely hoping to get a little water for the yard. I was not planning for a re-enactment of the parting of the red sea, but at least that half of the yard is green now (except for the trench they had to dig up to make the repairs but that will be re-soded). The funny thing is, it rained the next day.

Wow! That's alot of water! Too bad it wasn't during the day, the kids could have gone swimming!
