Lucky #13 with pics ~ 9/25 Finished!!!

I feel that I also have to comment on this because even though DK is supposed to be my kitty, somehow Aggie was in the process of adopting me (I have some kind of underdog attraction to small, sick critters). As rough as it was making the decision to put her down, and then explaining it to the children (this aint the first time they have witnessed the circle of life)…I have to make one small observation when it comes to vet bills----WOW!!!!!!! I haven’t spent that kind of money on a doctor’s visit for myself (and I’ve got really cruddy insurance!) I will give the vet credit for not attempting to prolong the inevitable, we actually had a vet a few years back that refused to put down our 16 year old Calico , who had a plethora of health issues and was in pain, she passed about 3 hours after Lynn brought her back from the vet.
I swear our back yard has become a pet cemetery, I pity the next family that buys our house if they have any children who like to dig.

Chuck

!

How are your wedding plans? Thanks for not mocking my screaming!!;)
They are going well I updated them on my PTR today!!!

We've just about gotten our next installment finished, but we had such a horrible day. Two weeks ago we adopted two kittens, DK (Darth Kitious) and Agatha. They were born under our barn. We took Aggie to the vet today because she was losing weight so quickly. It was feline leukemia and we had to put her to sleep. We will know about DK next Friday. He is doing great but we are really scared he may have it too. Also, our three other kitties have been exposed. It is much harder for older cats to contract, so we are hopeful. I know it may seem kind of silly to ask for prayer for cats, but if you are inclined, we would appreciate it. Health for our kitties and strength for all of us to bear what may come. Thanks.

I am very sorry about your kitten, it is always hard to lose a pet. I am also very sorry the other kitty isn't feel well...I hope he is ok and the same for the rest of them.

On a side note, I also got to view the shuttle disaster. I was in Junior High at lunch. It was a horrible day.
Haven't read all the way through yet, but had to chime in...
OMG buffy - me too! I remember sitting outside at lunch, enjoying the day until....I remember it so vividly.

Anyway, back on topic:

Loving this trippie!
Love the format (he said/she said)
Love your sweet relationship (hope DH and I are the same after 16 years)
Love your quirky sense(s) of humor and appreciation for Olivia N. J.
(OMG, I feel like I'm on the patio of the GF during a launch...love all around)
Looking forward to more....

Sure does feel like my DH should chime in right about now.....too bad we are a one-DISer-family

So sorry about your kitty. Years ago we had a kitten that got feline distemper. The vet basically sent her home with us to die. We prayed and loved on her and she lived. The vet said it was a miracle. So, no, I won't laugh at you for praying for your pet!!!

Denise

Enjoying your TR! and I'm very sorry about your kitties... The Magic Hour sounds so wonderful!!

Take care!

Nice report and pictures.
Glad you are enjoying it!!

Thanks!! Dh and I have been soul mates from the moment we met! (Too bad we were dating other people at the time!:rotfl2: ) I know alot of people don't believe in that sort of stuff, but it's true. So glad you are enjoying it.

Here is our dear Aggie. She looks sort of mad, but she was so sweet. I miss her.

Here she is with DK in the sink of our guest bathroom. Aren't they sweet! We'll know if DK is going to live on Friday!

Thank you everyone for your knid words. It's gonna be a long week. Oh, and did I mention it's Chuck and Em's birthdays this week? Oy!

Day 4
Meeting fellow Dis’ers, Sleeping Late, Star Wars Weekends and catching Hail!!

Sleeping in late from the Million Dreams Party meant that we woke up at @ 9 AM instead of the normal 7. After stumbling in at 01:00 that morning I was surprised how easily myself and the children were able to get up. Lynn is the early riser of the bunch and usually has to resort to threats of violence to get me into motion in the morning (I readily admit that I am not much of a morning person, which is strange because working shift work I see the morning start on a pretty consistent basis). We were going to sleep in later but the call of Star Wars Weekends was too strong to ignore and after downing a pop-tart and muffin it was off to Disney Studios.
After getting on the bus we were greeted by an online friend Twingle, which is good because as introverted as we are, we most likely not have said anything even if we had recognized her.
After our last resort stop at the Springs, a lady two seats ahead of us turned and said, “Are you Lynn?” It was Twingle! (Of the trip report with no name fame) She was very sweet and it looked as if she and her family were having a great time! (Hey Twingle!) I had hoped our paths would cross again, but they did not. If you haven’t checked out her trip report, please do. She is a hoot!!
We arrived at MGM in time to see the Storm Troopers talking to each other on top of the entrance way before entering the park.
Day4004.jpg

As we approached, one stormtrooper told the other to look out for suspicious characters in his sector. The other stormtrooper said that we all looked suspicious to him, especially that guy and pointed right at Jacob (who was wearing his Jedi robe for the occasion.) It was very cool!
After hitting the fast pass machine for Rock’n Roller Coaster we toured the Star Wars swag available before going to the SciFi Drive. I purchased my pin and we were sorely tempted by this Mickey Big Fig! It would look so cool on my entertainment center!!
Day4010.jpg

Resisting temptation, we headed to the SciFi Dinein of our lunch. The food here is OK, but it’s the atmosphere you go for. It’s just a perfect fit with Star Wars Weekend!!
Day4024.jpg

As side note, I could not help observing how many people walked up through the crowd of people waiting to be seated and upon hearing that there were no openings for at least another hour, stomped away in a serious unDisney like attitude – one time I too made the rookie mistake of thinking I could walk up to a sit down restaurant during one of their peak times and think I would be seated – a lesson I soon learned not to repeat (hunger is an excellent teacher), but even then I just thought “oh, well my bad”, I didn’t know that I could actually get perturbed at a CM for my lack of planning……..I’ll have to remember that.
Here we are in our car. We also picked up a couple of hitchhikers. They were very well behaved.
Day4012.jpg

We were starving and ordered onion rings as an appetizer. They brought us 6 on a plate! Maybe I was expecting a bog plate for all of us, but we were sorely disappointed! There weren’t even enough for us each to have 2!!! The rest of the food was OK. The boys had burgers, Em mac and cheese and I had the BBQ chicken breast. I do love how our bill looked like a traffic ticket!!
Day4026.jpg

After dropping off our hitcherhikers and having our fill of B-movie trailers, we were off to Rockin’ Roller Coaster. Even after our bravery of BTMRR, Jake and I weren’t quite ready to ride RR. After strolling through the shops, we waited in the back of the Tower of Terror gift shop. There is a cool cement room back there with places to sit and a fountain. A CM had even laid out paper and crayons for children to color as they waited. (Jake of course is too cool to color.)

Em and I hit Rock’n Roller Coaster (I’ll have to re-think that whole eating before a thrill ride strategy). It only took us 12 min. to load the first time, we hit it again (Fast Passes - gotta love being to thrill riders in a family of four) and was able to walk on in less than 5 min.
Day4035.jpg

After RR,we shopped in the Villians shop, one of my favorites. Over in one corner is a sweet shop where we watched a lady dipping marshmallows in chocolate and rolling them in M&M’s. They looked so good that the children and I decide to try one. When the CM heard this, she offered us the fresh ones she had just made. What a sweetie!

Here’s Emily enjoying hers.

And Jake assures me it was really good despite the look on his face.

On Hollywood Blvd., we meet some of the streetmosphere performers. Hilarious!!!
Day4033.jpg

Day4032.jpg

One of the things I liked most about this trip is that we had the luxury of time. We were able to walk around and see things we wouldn’t normally, because with twelve days, we didn’t feel pressured to rush. We still didn’t see it all, but it was much more relaxing.

We came to the quick conclusion that at 1 o’clock, it was 2 degrees cooler than the temperture in hell, so we took the bus back to SSR to get some pool time in.
Shortly after arriving back at the resort and finishing up a quick dip in the pool, we were treated to the rare spectacle of a Flordia afternoon thunderstorm.

Day4040.jpg

I have been told that these are a common occurrence during the summer months but we have never seen one that lasted more than 1 hour. This one lasted several hours and produced pea sized hail which suitably impressed the kids.
Day4042.jpg

It made for some enjoyable downtime where we just sat with the balcony open (the rain was blowing in from the opposite direction) and drew, colored, played on the computer (not plugged in of course) allowing me to catch up on inventorying photos and catching up on trip reports. One good thing, the outside temp. has dropped considerably.
Day4044.jpg

I think the night before was catching up with us now. No one really felt like going back out to MGM for the evening so we decided to stay in and enjoy some of the resort. We had our supper at the Artist Palette. The flatbread was very good!!
tripSCAN4.jpg

On returning to the room, Em asked if she could use the whirlpool tub. Chuck said he would put some bubbles in for her. Letting him was a big mistake.

Day4055.jpg

It all began as a good idea. How was I supposed to know that if one puts 1/3 of a bottle of bubble bath in a whirlpool, it would cause such problems. Emily likes to take the occasional bubble bath to help unwind down at the end of the day. After Em had been in the tub for about 10 min. Lynn heard a little voice call “mommie” and she opened the door to find the tub completely filled and overflowing with bubbles with more bubbles on the floor and the wall.
Overflowing?!? There is a strange little window between the bedroom and the tub. The bubbles were level with the window!! Again I was thankful for our in room washer and dryer!!!

Once all our excitement had died down, we went to bed early, looking forward to Epcot in the morning…….and Off Kilter:love: in the afternoon!!!!!!!

The bubble bath pic is hilarious! :rotfl2:

I want to go to Disney with non-thrill riders so I can use their FPs!!! Can I borrow you?!?

This is, I think, the third TR I've read that includes SW weekends...and it's interesting to see where you all were at different times...especially when the rain hit.

I'm haing a lot of fun reading your trip :)

Thanks so much for sharing with all of us!

Haven't read all the way through yet, but had to chime in...
OMG buffy - me too! I remember sitting outside at lunch, enjoying the day until....I remember it so vividly.

I went to school in Satellite Beach, where were you?

Awww. You had to post the pics. Some pixie dust for DK:wizard:

Happy Birthday to Chuck and Em!

Did you say, "nothing suspicious here, move along" using your jedi influence?

I purchased my pin and we were sorely tempted by this Mickey Big Fig! It would look so cool on my entertainment center!!

Something I've learned from reading these trip reports is to take a picture of those temptations, at least you have them in digital form.

Those look yummy

It's like a big washing machine, isn't it? We learning the hard way at our home as well.

We were at MGM during that storm...trapped...in Indiana Jones. It was not fun!!! :sad2:

We must have been mere feet from you that morning!!

So sorry about your kitties Lynn

OMG we did the same thing with the bubbles on holiday once but we put the shower curtain round and it just filled up :lmao: DD and I are hoping to pinch other DD and DH's FP's for some thrill rides this trip :thumbsup2

First of all, here is some pixiedust: for your cats.
Secondly, gotta love the whirlpool picture:lmao:
Thanks for the pixie dust! Did you see the new pic in my siggie? If we have to put him to sleep, it's gonna break my heart!! He is a handful, but such a sweetie!

The bubble bath pic is hilarious! :rotfl2:

I want to go to Disney with non-thrill riders so I can use their FPs!!! Can I borrow you?!?
You can borrow me anytime!! I've got an AP. I'll just need a place to sleep!

Love the bubble bath! Sounds like you had a good day at MGM, very non-rushed.

Denise
I could get used to the nonrushed thing!!

Some pixie dust for DK:wizard:

Happy Birthday to Chuck and Em!

Thanks for the pixie dust and the birthday wishes. I took Chuck to see Pirates 3 (finally) without kids. I could definitely develop a crush on Johnny depp, but my heart still belongs to Viggo.
Taking digital pictures is a great idea. That Art of Disney store is a HUGE temption for me.

Mere feet? Man!!

Thanks for the ktty hug! I'm so glad we weren't the only ones who have flooded a bathroom with bubbles! It was so funny. Em called me to the door to show me and I had to step out to keep from laughing. She was scared I'd be mad so her little face was so serious.

Thanks everyone for posting!!!

I just joined your TR and I have really enjoyed it. Your pics are great. I love the pic just posted of the storm.

I am so sorry to hear about your kitten and I will keep your other cats in my thoughts and prayers. I am a huge animal lover and I have cats myself. I know what it's like to lose a pet. Some people may think it's silly to ask for prayers or well wishes for our pets and some may even wonder why we mourn them, (animal lovers understand and even some that aren't animal lovers understand) our pets re our babies, our children, they ARE family.

Thanks!! Dh and I have been soul mates from the moment we met! (Too bad we were dating other people at the time!:rotfl2: ) I know alot of people don't believe in that sort of stuff, but it's true.

I just have to respond back....I definitely believe because it happened to me too. I met my DH at a high school graduation party, hosted by my boyfriend, and one of DH's oldest/best friends (DH went to a diff. school so we had not met eachother yet even though I was dating one of his good friends). We "connected" immediately, I broke up with said boyfriend, started dating DH and we were married 11 years later (after college in separate states, other relationships for each of us, moves to opposite coasts, and moves back by both of us!). My ex (his friend) was a groomsman in our wedding, and is a friend still today (we are "double dating" with he and his wife tonight - going to see the POLICE!!! :cool1: ). So yes, I can relate, and I totally believe in the whole soul mate theory. :thumbsup2

I went to school in Satellite Beach, where were you?

I was in Jr. High in DeLand - not as close as you, but close enough to see there was a definite problem.
Oh, and I also graduated from UF - Go Gators!! Love your siggy.
