I feel that I also have to comment on this because even though DK is supposed to be my kitty, somehow Aggie was in the process of adopting me (I have some kind of underdog attraction to small, sick critters). As rough as it was making the decision to put her down, and then explaining it to the children (this aint the first time they have witnessed the circle of life)
I have to make one small observation when it comes to vet bills----WOW!!!!!!! I havent spent that kind of money on a doctors visit for myself (and Ive got really cruddy insurance!) I will give the vet credit for not attempting to prolong the inevitable, we actually had a vet a few years back that refused to put down our 16 year old Calico , who had a plethora of health issues and was in pain, she passed about 3 hours after Lynn brought her back from the vet.
I swear our back yard has become a pet cemetery, I pity the next family that buys our house if they have any children who like to dig.
