I'm just back from a weekend at Universal. This was our (DW, DS9, and myself) first trip to Universal after 3 Disney trips. We went to MK the first night for MNSSHP. It's a lot of fun. After enjoying our day at mainly Universal and Marvel Superheroland at IOA, we went to Royal Pacific for the luau. This was a great break from the rides and park stuff. The food was very good. The price included drinks (beer, wine, etc.). I wasn't overly impressed with the pig, but the ribs and mahi mahi were excellent. They also had spicy pork dish. They had a green salad with all the trimmings and various of salads to eat. They also offered the best coconut rice and a chicken dish with peppers. They also had a beef dish, but the name escapes me. They had a dessert table with 4 desserts. The best was a chocloate banana cake. They also offered a tropical cake, a mango cheesecake and a chocolate nut pie. I had at least a taste of all 4. The show was funny and entertaining. A band played, island girls danced, flame thrower eat fire, and members of the audience were embarassed by their spouses attempts to do the dances. But hey, they aren't going to see those people ever again, so it was a lot of fun. I can say that because thankfully I wasn't picked and I am not a dancer.
Overall, good to very good food, entertaining show, and a needed break from the let's ride the rides till we drop attitude.
