Has anyone here been to the Sea World luau? How about the Disney Spirit of Aloha luau? I am trying to choose one for our family -- myself, DH, DS12, DS9. Comments? Thanks!

Hi we did this last year and really enjoyed it, foodwise its very good quality, soft drinks kept well filled all night, the entertainment was excellent in fact I'd say this dinner show was best we have ever been to, which is why we are returning in April:goodvibes

I am pretty convinced to book this -- is it indoors or outdoors?

It's indoors at the SeaFire Inn and I agree that it's a great experience.

can anyone tell me how this lasts, we are going for valentines day but it's at 6:30 and wasn't sure if we would have time to walk around afterwards. thanks!

We did Spirit of Aloha when we stayed at the Poly last year. I don't think they call it a luau any more, but I don't know if its changed in style. It's more of a dinner show, with what "luau-style" (I'm guessing - not been to an authentic luau) food served family style on platters. I believe it was all you can eat, but you'd have to ask for more of any specific item. It was tasty food though. Kids meals were boxed meals (chicken fingers...is there a place at Disney that DOESN'T sell them? :) )

The show was basically meant to showcase the various styles of dance from the various Polynesian islands with a slightly comical bent at times and a tying story of a girl who has come back to her family after being away for a while.

The show was certainly enjoyable. Some of the men's dances were better than the women! There is also an opportunity for younger kids (and some older ones!) to do a hula dance.

I've done both the Luau @ SW and the Polynesian's show @ WDW. While I enjoyed them both, they're really very different. Having been to several Luaus in HI, my opinion is that the Luau in SW is as close as you'll get to an authentic luau in Orlando. I think the only things missing are a pig cooking in the ground and poi.
